Good report,CT. Reminded me of our game v their North London rivals, Arsenal, just before lockdown where we also drew 0-0. We were stronger then and could/should have won the game. I felt last night's effort was more plucky where the opposition have better players but we stuck to our game plan. Some players were visibly tiring in the last quarter and that's
when we got caught out. As you say, a further improvement but it's going to need 'hearts' and 'minds' for 90+ minutes.

It must be just me but i swear westy was fouled by kane as he was trying to stop the ball going for the corner that led to the goal

A tough start and maybe some clouds have gathered simply because of the situation we’re all in.......we could all do with a bit of a lift so whilst last night was a defeat, a real step forward performance wise...........and it looked as though the team was as one, and committed to the cause........even The Royal Dyche!

We thought the same. He was pushed into wall perimeter but Oliver wouldn't have been watching that.claret3561 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 27, 2020 7:30 pmIt must be just me but i swear westy was fouled by kane as he was trying to stop the ball going for the corner that led to the goal

Decent performance and the green shots of recovery aren't far away if we keep those levels up, our bread & butter games will be against the likes of Brighton & Palace who we play post the Chelsea match, a good haul of points in those 2 fixtures, and we'll be looking in much better shape.
The positives: we kept a free scoring Spurs incredibly quiet, and with better finishing, or a better final ball we'd have possibly even won that, Kev Long was awesome against the Kane/Son partnership, JBG looked lively, and Brownhill worked tirelessly despite his early booking.
The negatives: we lost a poor goal at a stage when we were on top, also we didn't create many clear-cut chances, and obviously we fired blanks again, this is a concern, and it needs addressing urgently, whether that involves a change of personnel up front is for Sean to decide, but it's the lack of goals which worries me more than the defence, apart from the Leicester and Newcastle games we've been pretty solid, but it's goals that win games not clean sheets welcome as they are.

It’s not just you. A lot of refs would have given the foul.claret3561 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 27, 2020 7:30 pmIt must be just me but i swear westy was fouled by kane as he was trying to stop the ball going for the corner that led to the goal

I disagree. We deserved to score at least one goal and deserved to win the game. We were very unlucky not to score at least one goal and had we scored first we could have easily won the game.

You’ve got to admit that it was a pretty unique goal. I’ve never seen one quite like it. Not particularly spectacular but, boom boom, head to head and goal.

Heaton would have saved it, by the way.

Sums up my thoughts post match.
Was gutted to lose, but I feel much more positive than I did before the game.
The Wood handball baffled me too. The sky commentators were talking like he could have no complaints. I might be biased here but I'd have felt we got away with one if that had happened to spurs

Re: REPORT: Son goal denies us a much deserved point
It’s not whether you deserve to score a goal but whether you do score a goal. We didn’t and therefore didn’t deserve to win the game.
