Apart from the run when the penalty took place and his pen, did he really do much more ??

Barnes score a goal from open play.
Bamford had to settle for a penalty.
Hows he better?

can we just get over Bamford ffs
Re: Bamford
Far too emotional to be an effective threat. When he goes a few games without scoring he’ll be crying in his car.

Re: Bamford
No he isn’t excellent. Not even close.
And presumably you are referring to his time at boro with regards to the crowd on his back?
Re: Bamford
I thought he was pretty poor today, but saying that, so were our forwards.

He isn't - offered precious little today and wasn't an outlet for them in the second half when we were on top.boatshed bill wrote: ↑Sun Dec 27, 2020 8:34 pmI put this up hoping that most posters would say that he is no better than what we have.

Re: Bamford
He is a good finisher and something different to what we have.
His record now he is playing regular at this leevl is what many thought capable of. He is basically doing what he's done at every other level. He has got his premier league chance later than I thought he would but hes certainly taking it. Looks confident - his penalty certainly was!

He’s no better than what we have and any of our strikers (even Vydra) would score as many goals in a side creating so many clear cut chances.

Super Frank Lampard's Chelsea reject Bamford is approx 120 PL appearances behind journeyman 350K Ashley Barnes - Bamford has a long way to go, you don't play nearly 170 games in the PL as a striker if you are crap

He actually did us a favour by blocking what looked like a goal certainty by one of his own players in the second half. Apart from that he did nothing other than falling over Pope’s ball winning leg.

Oh, and for some reason he was interviewed after the game where he referred to Burnley as being different from other premiership teams in that they are over physical.

You can file him alongside Kurt Nogan and David Nugent - obnoxious and always likely to score against us. Smug git who “quite likes a scruffy 1 : 0”

AHHA......The great Vydra!.......Just slamming in the goals, every chance he gets.
If only Sean Dyche could see,.. with untinted glasses... We'd be top of the league!

I wouldn't swap Bamford for Wood or Barnes.
Bamford would be in his car by now in floods of tears with the lack of service our front two get

Re: Bamford
Very strange, in that he scores goals, but the stats show he misses a hell of a lot more, which supports the theory that Leeds create an awful lot of chances for him.
Looking at it coldly I prefer our 4 strikers, even though they're blowing cold at the moment. Most strikers have a quiet spell, what's hurting us is that they've hit it at the same time, normally one or the other would be carrying the team.

Re: Bamford
He’s obviously a good player however people are talking relatively. It’s like when audley Harrison was “****” etc , in a ring hed smash you to bits but for the level he was at is the level he’s judged byVegas Claret wrote: ↑Sun Dec 27, 2020 10:01 pmSuper Frank Lampard's Chelsea reject Bamford is approx 120 PL appearances behind journeyman 350K Ashley Barnes - Bamford has a long way to go, you don't play nearly 170 games in the PL as a striker if you are crap
If you had 100 million for a striker you wouldn’t go and buy Barnes would you ? Infact he would be one of the last players you’d buy. So infact at premier league level he is a bit **** ain’t he . I actually really like him , his attitude and all that , but by premier league standard he is a bit **** . Rather the same as Jeff Hendrick .

Re: Bamford
I'd be much happier if Wood had hit 10 this season.
Re: Bamford
He still wouldn’t fit into our team and the way we play but Leeds’ style suits his game. I’m definitely of the view we need a new striker though in addition to improving the supply from midfield. Wood and Jay Rod don’t look like scoring in a month of Sundays at the moment.

Wood has gone a whole one game without scoring.Boss Hogg wrote: ↑Mon Dec 28, 2020 9:26 amHe still wouldn’t fit into our team and the way we play but Leeds’ style suits his game. Re: Bamford
No, our style of play doesn't suit Bamford, he's a perfect fit for Leeds. It's a shame Ollie Watkins at Villa was out of our pricing as he'd be perfect, think he'll do really well in the Prem, anyway, he probably has too much pace for us.

Re: Bamford
Without a shadow, the people that say we don’t suit his style are quite correct we don’t we play a different way but it wouldn’t take much tinkering for him & us to adapt, any player can adapt & adjust just takes time, bamford could be a foil behind a targetman for the flicks & knockdowns, he’s more than capable for playing for anybody in this league even the top four although I wouldn’t have him down as a starter.Blackburn_Claret wrote: ↑Sun Dec 27, 2020 9:53 pmHes a lot better than we have. Re: Bamford
His conversion rate of 30% would suggest the top sides wouldn't touch him. We would never adapt our style to such an extent where we can create enough chances for him to miss that many and not cost us. Even Leeds fans question him, and ask where they could be with a striker with a 60% strike rate.Jakubclaret wrote: ↑Mon Dec 28, 2020 1:54 pmWithout a shadow, the people that say we don’t suit his style are quite correct we don’t we play a different way but it wouldn’t take much tinkering for him & us to adapt, any player can adapt & adjust just takes time, bamford could be a foil behind a targetman for the flicks & knockdowns, he’s more than capable for playing for anybody in this league even the top four although I wouldn’t have him down as a starter.
He's had a solid start, we won't know if he is good enough until we can look back in 2 years time. I think Bamford will be back in the Championship by then. Just a gut feeling, time will tell.

10 goals from 15 Premier League games! The most by a player for a newly promoted club at this stage of a season since 99/00. Surely he can't be that bad to reach them figures

Re: Bamford
Also getting himself in a lot of scoring positions which alongside actually scoring goals is another sign of a good striker. If you need it serving up on a plate for you then you're always gonna have periods where you and the club you play for struggle for goals
Wood and Bamford could be a great strike partnership for both us and Leeds as are both very good players who I think would compliment one another
