I'm Crawshawbooth so loyal to Toffs really. Decent most of the time, and when not at their best, still good.
My ex missus' parents had Phillips Lane chippy on Burnley Road, Colne. Wow, nothing comes close to them back in the day before being taken over
Not keen on toffs they are really stingy with their portions. I always drive/walk past it now and go to Burnley Road chippy next to the spar, they are really good.

Bump.

Has Pendle Street chippy changed hands, and if so, is it any good?

Ingham St chippy in Padiham used to be ace when I lived on Cobden St, they used to fry in lard still. I'm talking 17 years since I moved from there though.

Very inconsistent. The last time was good, the tie before that shite. That’s if you can get served within half hour with the yapping they do with their locals and eachother.

I've not been for yonks. Do you know if it has new owners and whether it has improved?

I was told that chippys are generally closed in a Monday as the trawlers don’t go out over the weekends so the fish available isn’t as fresh

Eddie Gills in Padiham is the best around much better than a Chip of the old block.

Called off at Eddie Gills for the first time last week. Decent fish & chips. They only take cash though, but if they keep to the same standard, we'll become regulars.

Senior's in Thornton is the best chip shop in Lancashire used it many many times when I lived in Knott End
Seniors in Lytham used to be good also. Used to catch the bus to it from Starr Gate when holidaying in Blackpool.

Lets be honest unless you have been brought up on takeaways and convenience food, most fish and chip shop takeaways are rank.

The only good chippies are the ones with the restaurants attached like Seniors and Bannys at Colne
