That 0-0 was a super match. Both sides trying to attack. Neither side with the quality to score against two very good defences and keepers.

Re: Today's football 13.2.21
Brighton have gone above us on GD, but we still have a game in hand on them, so it's been a pretty good day all round.

Re: Today's football 13.2.21
Don’t see why not. With games being televised practically every day of the week it seems to make sense to just have an ongoing thread so that the discussion doesn’t start/stop.clarethomer wrote: ↑Sun Feb 14, 2021 11:05 amChanged the title to use as today’s football one if that works better?
Arsenal v Leeds is the stand out fixture today. Should be goals aplenty there.

Re: Today's football
Southampton 2-0 Wolves
West Brom 0-3 Man Utd
Arsenal 2-3 Leeds
Everton 3-1 Fulham
You heard it hear first! Though judging on my Super Six performance this season, don't take the above as being correct

1-2. Great goal by Neto.
Re: Today's football
Southampton looking to make it 7 on the trot. Having said that I'd be happy if we signed Ings, Redmond and Ward-Prowse in the summer.

Doubt Dyche would sign Ings again.
Ward-Prowse would cost serious money I think, but I'd love to have him at Burnley

Had no idea Soton were on such a bad run. They seem to go through really extreme streaks under Ralf.

Re: Ings
He's hoping a bigger club in the champions league spots comes in for him, but his agent is also trying to get a release fee inserted into the new contract.
Apparently he'd be more than happy to stay at Saints, but wants to keep his options open.
He'd probably do alright at Leicester if Vardy wasn't doing so well already.

Shouldn’t be any surprise as Man Utd really struggled against Sheffield United

Re: Ings
Ings in this form deserves better than Southampton, Leicester would be a great shout, and with the quality they possess he'd score bags of goals there, Vardy is of course still their main man, but he isn't getting any younger, and he will need to be replaced soon.GodIsADeeJay81 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 14, 2021 2:06 pmHe's hoping a bigger club in the champions league spots comes in for him, but his agent is also trying to get a release fee inserted into the new contract.

Man Utd have won every away game this season when they've conceded first
Re: Today's football
You just know that after yesterday's great result that UTD and Everton will let us down.

You really shouldn’t be concerned about WBA anyway. There’s no chance they’ll catch us.

Re: Today's football
As long as we put the points on the board it won't matter what anyone else does or doesn't do, although it's helpful that the bottom 3 are gash I must admit.

Re: Today's football
Shock 2-0 defeat for Brentford at the hands of Barnsley, the Championship yet again throws up a surprise.
And if Swansea can win their 2 games in hand, then they'll hit the summit.

Wolves win a good result for us, we are now in touching distance of Southampton who topped the league earlier in the season when we couldn't buy a win

Re: Today's football
Missed the first half, and I know it's almost heresy with Lowts current form, but I like WBA's Darnell Furlong in terms of a low to mid budget RB signing.

Re: Today's football
A home draw (in fact, any draw) would be as bad as a defeat for West Brom.
They need a serious pile of points to have the slightest chance of getting out of the mire.
Two points dropped they'll never get back.
