Haaland to Barcelona?
Reports surfacing that both Haaland's agent and father are in Spain meeting with the Barca president.
Suggestions are the fee will be €150 million

Re: Haaland to Barcelona?
They are, but they're also planning a fire sale to get rid of players like Coutinho by all accounts.
I think they're due to pay Liverpool another £25 million for him soon based on appearances.

Fantastic team of Messi and Haaland... and some 15 year olds from the youth setup...

Interesting to see that they want to know what Barca's future plans are and Bayern are happy with their main man.

Re: Haaland to Barcelona?
Seems more of a Real Madrid signing than Barca to me.
Must mean Messi is leaving and all them wages saved if they're going for him.

Laporte must be thinking he’s a certainty for becoming the new president, again.
I love how all these talks can be openly taking place when Haaland is contracted to BD. So much for the supposed rules that are in place to stop players being tapped up.
I hope that he ends up in the Premier League, looks a great player and far more to come from him. Just surprised that the huge & mighty Leeds United aren’t in the running, especially with him being such a big fan and all!!

Re: Haaland to Barcelona?
Is it any wonder these Spanish clubs are in the shite.
Facing a possible 2 year ban from European competition as well. They are going to have to offer some major wages for Haaland to accept that.

Other major clubs could screw Barca by NOT signing their cast-offs. Let em stew.

Re: Haaland to Barcelona?
In my fantasy football world, Manchester United call a press conference alerting the world's media to a major signing. The Glaziers fly in from the States, Haarland is paraded in front of 200 Journo's and Cameramen and as he is given the Cartier pen to sign the deal, just laughs, " I don't think so, Lads ! ", jumps in a Taxi, drives up the road and signs for City !

Re: Haaland to Barcelona?
If anyone can it is Chelsea, even at the Euro 200m Dortmund price I have seen reported, they have quite a few spare players they want to sell this summer.

Re: Haaland to Barcelona?
Yeah I saw another report that Abramovich is ready to fund this one.
Re: Haaland to Barcelona?
Probably just wait and see who he signs for... seems to be a lot of conflicting ‘insider info’ as per I.e. lots of close season ********
Re: Haaland to Barcelona?
So how can this pass Financial Fair Play rules if he's ready to fund it?GodIsADeeJay81 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 07, 2021 6:31 pmYeah I saw another report that Abramovich is ready to fund this one.

I've never loved football less than I do right now. People losing jobs, houses and businesses every day and the transfer fees just seemingly keep rising, it's horrific

Can’t see him going to Chelsea, they still don’t seem like a “big” club (I know they’ve just won the CL).

Re: Haaland to Barcelona?
They win something pretty much every year since Abramovich took over, they're only the 4th club ever, and also the only English club, to have won all 3 major European trophies - CL, Europa and Cup Winners cup.claret2018 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 07, 2021 7:35 pmCan’t see him going to Chelsea, they still don’t seem like a “big” club (I know they’ve just won the CL).
They're classed as big now.

Monied as opposed to big, I’d say.GodIsADeeJay81 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 07, 2021 7:47 pmThey win something pretty much every year since Abramovich took over, they're only the 4th club ever, and also the only English club, to have won all 3 major European trophies - CL, Europa and Cup Winners cup.

Re: Haaland to Barcelona?
That, also
UEFA have suspended FFP and are likely to asses the whole of 2019/20 2021/22 and 2022/23 as a single block before changing the rules
Chelsea built a huge pile of FFP credit in 2019/20 while the had a transfer ban and sold Hazard, this year will have seen them draw very high revenues as Champions League winners - still likely to be in close to £100m despite the ESL penalty and they will benefit from Champions League again next season and a higher placing in the Co-efficient table as defending champions and their recent UEFA history (those payments increase by around 25% next season.
Re: Haaland to Barcelona?
How much could that reassessment equate to? I’m assuming that the bigger spenders will all have a significantly larger leeway - and Chelsea more so after the embargo.Chester Perry wrote: ↑Mon Jun 07, 2021 8:40 pmThat, also

Re: Haaland to Barcelona?
I suspect those with the biggest stadiums (matchday incomes) will be given the greatest leeway (funny how that helps Barcelona and Real Madrid isn't it - any income that was reliant on footfall and has a track record of revenue will to my mind be given exemption at least in significant part - i.e Barcelona were generating Euro 39m a year from their museum alone - the catch all will be that they must demonstrate that with the income they would have been able to have a wage to revenue ratio at or below 70% - which these clubs do

Haven't Man Utd also won those 3 competitions?
