Trying to contact Andrew Haworth
Alas the Paul Weller book that he received from Amazon had a torn cover so would like him to contact me if he is a UTC member.

Re: Trying to contact Andrew Haworth
Just seen that this Andrew Haworth fella has left a 1 star review on Dave's Amazon listing of the Weller book because the cover was torn. He's saying the packaging was fine so it must have been torn during packing. What he doesn't seem to realise is he's bought it via Amazon Prime, so Amazon themselves packed it, the utter melt.
I wish people realised how damaging 1 star product reviews are on Amazon, especially poorly thought out ones. They can kill your listing and Amazon are never interested in getting rid of them.

Re: Trying to contact Andrew Haworth
If I’m unhappy about something I will complain to that person, restaurant etc, I will always give people a chance to sort any issues, before taking it further, I’d only ever leave a bad review if I was ignored as mistakes are easily made and easily resolved.

Re: Trying to contact Andrew Haworth
People should only use review sections for positive reviews. Everyone knows that.
Perfect system then.

Re: Trying to contact Andrew Haworth
Sadly just one of the frustrations of on line selling. I once had a negative review because the D-clip in a button badge had moved and was the wrong angle to affix to a jacket. The only thing I could do was reply that by turning it with the thumb you can readjust the pin in the casing...
It was true, helpful and hopefully made them feel an idiot.

Where would you expect the person to leave a review if not with the retailer?Fretters wrote: ↑Wed Apr 14, 2021 8:04 pmJust seen that this Andrew Haworth fella has left a 1 star review on Dave's Amazon listing of the Weller book because the cover was torn. Seems like Dave is doing his utmost to track down the buyer and replace the book in which case you would hope that the buyer edits his review.

Some people just complain in the hope they get a freebie.

Re: Trying to contact Andrew Haworth
If he hasn't contacted the retailer first and tried to get the issue solved and gone straight in for negative feedback it is a bit poor. If he has contacted amazon and been ignored then he has gone lightly but the fact he doesn't mention this in his review seems a bit smacked arse.
Re: Trying to contact Andrew Haworth
I think if the item says fulfilled by amazon they pack it, otherwise it can come direct from the seller, I've had both, but amazon will only deal with complaints at the first stage with items they have fulfilled, others, you have to try and resolve the issue with the seller in the first instance

Re: Trying to contact Andrew Haworth
Regarding Amazon reviews. If a product is of poor quality, I'll say so in a review if I can be arsed. If the product is damaged during the packing process or in transit, I get in touch with Amazon, regardless of who fulfilled the order. They always sort it out.
Re: Trying to contact Andrew Haworth
Exactly. Andrew Haworth has also left the wrong type of review. He should be leaving a seller review*, not a product review. His complaint is nothing to do with the quality of Dave's writing.Billy Balfour wrote: ↑Thu Apr 15, 2021 10:38 amRegarding Amazon reviews. *Amazon would then remove this in any case as it's fulfilled by them, not Dave. They'd then send a replacement to the customer.
