Tarks contract?
Re: Tarks contract?
Who'd of thought that a professional footballer would act professionally on the field? Let's all give a round of applause for being professional.
He still knows what running down a contract does to the club and that our entire business model and survival depends on the re-sale value and appreciation of the fee... If every player did this, we would be out of business in no time!

Where does it say that players when signing a contract have to take into mind that on agreeing a deal accept that he can be sold when it suits us best ?
He signed a 3.5 year deal in 2016 and is still here.
Should we offer Barnes a new deal or does this approach only work 1 way ?

So a player can't be sold while on contract can he now then lol. Players leave all the time on contract and quite often because of pressure from the player.Where does it say that players when signing a contract have to take into mind that on agreeing a deal accept that he can be sold when it suits us best ?

Re: Tarks contract?
He can sign a precontract agreement with another club in January, we won’t get anything for him now.IWOODLOVETT wrote: ↑Thu Sep 30, 2021 1:05 pmI would think that Tarks will be offered a ‘take it or leave it contract’ in January and if he declines we will listen to any serious offers and hopefully cash in then.

Re: Tarks contract?
That’s very true but unfortunately as well they’d be more chance of us being relegated if he was to have a disastrous season.superdimitri wrote: ↑Thu Sep 30, 2021 2:52 pmIf he has a bad season making mistakes yes. There's more of a chance of him staying then.
Re: Tarks contract?
If he would rather see out his contract and leave on a free, it makes no difference whether we receive any serious offers or not. A player under contract need not leave unless he wants to.IWOODLOVETT wrote: ↑Thu Sep 30, 2021 1:05 pmI would think that Tarks will be offered a ‘take it or leave it contract’ in January and if he declines we will listen to any serious offers and hopefully cash in then.
It might be possible that a club he wants to go to are so desperate for a centre half that they offer both a fee we would accept and a wage Tarkowski would accept,. but it isn't likely.

Tarks has been a great player for Burnley. He will go with the best wishes of fans. It’s been on the cards for some time now and I’m glad he’s giving 100% until he does go.

Well said. Although I fear the calibre of folk who still hate Owen Coyle may also have a go at Tarks for the disgusting behaviour of seeing his contract out…..

I fail to see any connection whatsoever between the two examples given, are they comparable?box_of_frogs wrote: ↑Thu Sep 30, 2021 7:41 pmWell said. Although I fear the calibre of folk who still hate Owen Coyle may also have a go at Tarks for the disgusting behaviour of seeing his contract out…..

I hope Tarks goes on to bigger and better things, it will only reflect well on us.
