Tractor Boys

Post by SuperGlennyLittle » Mon May 03, 2021 4:49 pm

For the last twelve months or so I keep seeing a trail of tractors with heavy trailers taking rubble or soil from somewhere in Pendle to somewhere in Burnley. Sometimes they're still grafting late into the evenings. They go over the tops from Nelson direction.

Anyone know what they're doing? Must be a flippin big hole being dug somewhere!

Doesn't bother me, I'm just interested/nosey!

They'll be filling in the big empty space that was once our Dry Powder store. :(

The rubble is just a cover, they are pinching trailers.

They are taking a load of rubble from the former Railway Pub site in Brierfield.
Barnfield have been redeveloping the old Smith & Nephew building

So has the old S&N building been demolished? To think of the employment which the place had in the town in the 80’s when I worked for NatWest there at the time.....

No it’s been developed into Burnley FC Leisure Box and Adult Learning Hub along with the building behind along the canal being converted into apartments

All the soil taken to the Boggy Meadow site in Cliviger comes from.another Miller Homes site in Clitheroe - source the drivers.
What's concerning for potential buyers is the fact that foundations appear to be being laid on "false" earth without the piling which was supposed to happen. Not good practice.
