Liverpool game - Claiming tickets and ground entry

Post by Leisure » Thu May 06, 2021 11:12 am

The club will shortly be releasing ballot/ticketing information for the Liverpool game but in the meantime all season ticket holders should check on the club website that their ticketing account is linked. There are full details on the club website as to how to do this. If you have problems doing this, get in touch with the Ticket Office - ticketoffice@burnleyfc.com

So phase 2 season ticket holders can be a season ticket before this fixture but will not be considered for a chance in ballot even ticket? Is that correct does anyone know?

That's sure to be correct because the earliest possible date for issuing phase 2 season tickets is 17th May, and the ballot for tickets will surely have to be before that for a game on 19th May.

If it is I'm ringing Gary Neville and we're protesting.

The new owners will feel the force.

Why? It's a completely different season.

Nobody is technically a ST holder this year.

WHAT IS THE NEW BURNLEY FC ACCOUNT?

Burnley Football Club historically has had a number of different websites for supporters to use all with their own log-in sections; including tickets, retail, and Clarets Player/Clarets+ via the main club website.

Your new Burnley FC account creates a single sign-on login (SSO) so you have the ability to link all your accounts together to get everything Burnley FC from one email address and password.

I'm just on my way out now but will post some advice/instructions later.

Well, apart from those who continued paying and paid up front for this season before this season was scuppered by the pandemic.

You can moan as much as you like, it is highly likely that demand will outstrip supply so there needs to be a selection process.

Possibly, as it's likely that the ballot and ticket allocation will have been completed before Phase 2 renewals open but the club will shortly be announcing the details.

You have paid for next years ST.

I'm not that fussed how they select them on a personal level as I won't be going. But it's not right.
Everyone should have a chance.

On a side issue could the club open hospitality seperately as a pub and allow another 1000 in that way? In the longside staying behind the glass of course.

Not true. Those who renewed in 2020 paid for the current season. Obviously it is only fair that current season ticket holders have priority for a ballot. If people complain about this then it only proves to me that some will complain about anything.

Not really, as that money for the 20/21 season ticket has now being used for 21/22 so this season technically has zero season ticket sales.

All fans should have a fair shot at any ballot to say otherwise just proves we still have them with the 'im a better fan' attitude.

This has absolutely nothing to do with being a better fan. If you bought a 20/21 season ticket you should have priority access to a ballot for a 20/21 league game.

I can't wait for all this to unravel, I really can't.

I'm having no part of it, as I've no desire to attend with a half empty stadium (had enough of that in the good old days) nor do I wish to open myself up to a potential humongous rigmarole in attempting to carry out the relatively simple task of buying a ticket for a game of football.

As an aside, does anyone know if they will have to use "digital" tickets as it would appear that paper tickets are no longer permitted ?

I did buy a 20/21 season ticket.

I got it refunded.

I still bought a 20/21 season ticket though.

The only difference is you chose to use your money to buy a season ticket for next season and I chose to take my money back and renew at a later date.

Surely by getting a refund having cancelled this seasons season ticket it leaves you a non season ticket holder the minute you selected refund ?

By selecting use your money for next season leaves you a non season ticket holder the minute you chose to use your money to buy one next season.

Regardless of taking a refund or using for next season both still bought a 20/21 season ticket.

Not really the same though is it.

Person a has left their money in the club, hasn't withdrawn it then used the money already paid against the next year, not once ending a form of membership with the club

Person b has taken their money back, ending their current form of membership

Its exactly the same.

Both bought a 20/21 season ticket

Person A got cash back
Person B simply transferred the cash to buy next seasons ticket.

By renewing in phase 2 person A also hasn't ended any form of membership with the club.

Best way to do it is put the best seats on sale for 40 quid or whatever they charge (no concessions) for matchday prices and get some money in the club coffers.

I understand you are talking about this from a personal level, but you aren't being honest with yourself by claiming it is the same. At this moment in time you have nothing to show you have paid for next season.

Using your reply though you will become a member again in phase 2 I am understanding, by that date I imagine the tickets will already be allocated so currently you won't qualify. It is the only way the club can possibly do this in the current guidelines and available time.

In case you are thinking this is coming from someone who wants a ticket, Yes I qualify having transferred my money to next season, but I have no interest at all in going under these restricted terms. So I won't be getting a ticket either. Hopefully by August we can have a much higher % of fans allowed in as well as away fans and the pubs are open normally. Again though this isn't me having a go just trying to explain how it will more than liekly be worked

I get the thinking behind it but again technically no one has had a season ticket for this season - all fans have had the money 'given back' in once sense or another - either by using it to buy a ticket for next season or by refund.

I'm not overly bothered about going myself to be honest due to personal circumstances but do think it should be open to all who 'bought' a season ticket for this season.

Those that paid the full amount for the 2020-21 season, either by DD or in full up front, should have priority for this game.
If in a "normal" season, you had to give up your season ticket for what ever reason, would you still expect to have priority on purchasing tickets, just because you had a season ticket at the start of the season?

(FYI, like COTC1882, I would also be eligible to get a ticket but will no interest in getting one)

I'm not sure they would allow you to give it up half way through, but this isn't normal.

Of course you can, and I know it’s not normal, nothing is right now, but if you are paying by DD and need to give it up, you would stop the DD and they would (or should) cancel the season ticket.

You would then not be a STH and so would not have same priority as a current STH

I did pay in full so doesn't really matter to me.

But i suspect if you stopped your DD the club would request the remaining outstanding ST payments.

I hope the option to do it on behalf of your Friends & Family will be possible.

I do all the online stuff for my Dad's Burnley account because he finds the website confusing (who doesn't, it's useless) and have him on my F&F list. As I was able to renew his season ticket using my own account, I hope this is possible for this too.

You are right. I am sure when the chance of fans being on games in the Autumn came up it was said that those who took their money out would lose the chance to enter any ballot in this current season. Obviously the chance in the autumn never cropped up because our infection rates were too high..but now the chance has arisen the ones that did take money out cry foul. They cannot say they were not warned.

That is of course if the club stick to those rules and allow only Phase 1 ST holders to enter the ballot. They may yet allow them into the ballot. If it was up to me i'd be allowing all ST holders registered at the beginning of this season to be allowed in..money out or not. However it shouldn't be expected though going off the rules in the autumn.

I'm in the superior fan category (phase 1), I won't be going on until we are back to normal.

Similar with my Technophobic Brother ... no computer, no smartphone, no landline etc etc etc.

I do all his via F&F too, ordering his season ticket and away tickets etc etc etc

It would be a tad embarrassing for the club if they make tier 1 fans only and they don't sell out.

Seems like plenty aren't bothering until it gets back to normal. A night game as well won't help.

I'll certainly be there, if I can get a ticket.

Its exactly the same.

Both bought a 20/21 season ticket

Person A got cash back
Person B simply transferred the cash to buy next seasons ticket.

By renewing in phase 2 person A also hasn't ended any form of membership with the club.
At the time the option of taking a refund or leaving/continuing your payments was offered by the club the words in the 'leave your money with us' section included the following paragraph, "By retaining your season ticket, you will ALSO (my capitals) be the first priority to have a chance of getting a tickets to home games during the 2020/21 season if the stadium reopens at a reduced capacity." This was quite widely discussed at the time but answers your issue.

If people complain about this then it only proves to me that some will complain about anything.
I wish to complain about this post. :D

The resolution to this problem is simple.
Only rich super fans should even be considered for this ballot. Those fans who have had season tickets for years but have been hit hard financially during this pandemic.....well they should just keep quiet and do one.
This match is purely for the privileged......sorry.

On the other hand. Here's a thought. Those fans who had a season ticket from say 2008....continuously until Feb 2020. But who have had to cancel....and who can prove they gave claimed universal credit for the last 14 months, how about they are entered into a ballot?

What a gesture that would be...mand let them in for nowt.

It's a fair point well made - not really - but bfcmik's is spot on.

Could be digital or could be loaded onto seasoncards. We wait to find out.

The ticket office is already having to deal with several thousand ticket sales plus associated website problems in the next two weeks. If you add a complicated Liverpool allocation system, the "gesture" the staff might give could be ... ...
