Whoooah some contraversial ones here....

I think where a song changes genre sometimes works like The Pogues version of Dirt Old Town albeit I think the Dubliners is also better than the original.

I guess most of Led Zeppelins back catalogue is them doing better versions of the original.

And as great a singer as Phil Mogg is - UFO's version of the Love classic was an album filler at best.

The Animals versions of the old blues classic arguably gave it a bit of life albeit I think they probably added electric instruments to Dylan's interpretation but I still prefer Leadbelly.

I think, however, some cross a serious divide such as: 'Jane's Addiction's Sympathy for the Devil better than the Stones'. Deepest apologies to those who disagree and a nod to subjectivity but surely that's just wrong.
