Is It an inservice day at School in Lancashire today??
I truly don’t understand why grown men would constantly ruin threads by bickering about such petty and pathetic childish things!
Anyway I wonder if any of the recent U23 signings were the AI Scout ones that were on trial or if they have been deemed not suitable.

Really good point about AI scout. I imagine they would have highlighted that though when they signed.JarrowClaret wrote: ↑Fri Jul 02, 2021 12:33 pmIs It an inservice day at School in Lancashire today??

Be good to find out if they did come in through that avenue though

You'd think the 90% wage cut , more than any views of chemical works ,would scupper any move to Boro for Gray

One for us perhaps as we're always looking for a freeby: There's some Argentine lad out of contract at Barca, a bit old perhaps and no Robbie Blake, but I've heard that he shows promise.

I hope the young man does well. It must be hard, two weeks to impress is not a long time and sometimes in these situations you can have a tendency to try too hard, anyway I hope it works out for him.ClaretAL wrote: ↑Sat Jul 03, 2021 7:25 amInteresting read on how the club approach these situations

I have long thought Albrighton would suit us and our style. An unspectacular but consistent performer with a really good delivery on him. Getting on a bit I suppose, but would undoubtedly do a good job for a couple of years and likely be low cost and low risk.

I'd be happy with this, exactly the profile Dyche goes for. Workmanlike but not short of quality or pace and versatile too. At 31, not quite 'over the hill' either

We need to stop looking at ages. We have to bring in long term signings such as Collins but we will need shorter term deals too. I was really hopeful on Young and I think we’d have got him but dir Villa. Albrighton I reckon would be a good signing if we could get him.

CT, as much as I respect your opinion, if he was up to PL standard now, at 31, I doubt Leicester would part with him.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Sat Jul 03, 2021 11:08 pmWe need to stop looking at ages. The problem we have in midfield is that they are collectively too old it's the area where we need greater energy and athleticism.

31 appearances for Leicester last season suggests he is up to standard. I think if we could get him then he’d be an excellent signing just as I think Ashley Young would have.boatshed bill wrote: ↑Sat Jul 03, 2021 11:12 pmCT, as much as I respect your opinion, if he was up to PL standard now, at 31, I doubt Leicester would part with him.

Re: Summer 2021 Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
Albrighton was an integral part of the team that won the prem
So he's 31?
He's never had pace, but his delivery is spot on
Would be very happy with this, but I suspect others are interested

I agree. And I’d much rather we sign an experienced pro permanently than take an inexperienced (likely inconsistent) kid on loan and develop him for another prem team.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Sat Jul 03, 2021 11:08 pmWe need to stop looking at ages. All that said, I can’t see Leicester letting him go or him wanting to come when he’s getting good game time there. Unless it’s a makeweight in a deal for JT?
Re: Summer 2021 Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
They don't need him because they have bought in quality. Here's to him going back home to villa.

I'd rather have a tried and tested played his entire career in the Premier League 31 year old than some random 21 year old foreigner with a fancy name that may or may not be able to do it at this level - we know Albrighton can do it

It’s a strange one for me.
I think it would be a good signing if we also get a young pacy winger in. If not I would be slightly disappointed.

Re: Summer 2021 Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
Ultimate professional, great delivery, can only see the positive if we signed him .
Re: Summer 2021 Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
Says we are still after Joe Warrall. If that's the case I can't see Tarkowski being here as we'll have too many centre halves.
Re: Summer 2021 Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
Albrighton would be a superb signing and would fit within our style and formation like a glove. He is also extremely versatile.
Hasn't Dyche been after him for a while? Even before Leicester won the league?

Didn't realise Albrighton was only 31 tbh. Yes, not young, but he seems to have been around forever and in a flurry of other signings he may well be a good aquisition.

Albrighton would be a fine signing so hope there's something in the link.

Re: Summer 2021 Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
I think both Westwood and Lowton may have been at Villa when Albright was there. A call from one or both may be all it takes to get him interested. Would certainly get more game time with us and maybe a 2 year contract with the option of a third would get him interested. Still one of the best right footed crossers in the PL, and a pleasant change to JBG charging down the right hand flank and then slowing the whole thing down by checking on to his left foot to have any chance of crossing it. He seems also be be relatively injury free. Leicester have a number players coming back from injury and will have a number of wide players ahead of him in the pecking order. Will depend on how long he wants to continue playing in the PL-we can give him that opportunity

I guess we'll just have to disagree then.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Sat Jul 03, 2021 11:39 pm31 appearances for Leicester last season suggests he is up to standard. I think if we could get him then he’d be an excellent signing just as I think Ashley Young would have.
And Albrighton made 20 starts and 11 sub appearances, so not quite as regular as it looks.
How many seasons would his contract be for?
