As amazing as a website as this is...why bother CT? Shut it down and do yourself and your health a favour. Let the idiots rant on Twitter or Facebook. So many have just decided to use this site as a punching bag for their frustrations at us not being a club that throws millions and millions at players. Turning posts into their own comedy corner thinking they are funny. If I was you I would shut up shop, no point running something which you put so much effort into if it going to effect youClaretTony wrote: ↑Thu Aug 05, 2021 6:18 pmIm dick to the back teeth of your snide comments about me. And for what it’s worth, I know a hell of a lot more than you.

Right now I think I'd be happy to have Garlick back in charge. At least he didn't have us believing we were going to sign some serious incoming every window because we all knew where we stood on that one AND we weren't up to our eyes in debt. I really, really hope I see something to make me change my stance on this in the next 3 weeks or so.

This week has been difficult for me this week for reasons away from this board and away from football. I’ve had long spells away from the board during this time for my own benefit. Today I’ve had problems with two posters.Cleveleys_claret wrote: ↑Thu Aug 05, 2021 6:30 pmAs amazing as a website as this is...why bother CT? Shut it down and do yourself and your health a favour. If you are concerned about the position we are in, wasn’t it Garlick who landed us in this position?Dark Cloud wrote: ↑Thu Aug 05, 2021 6:33 pmRight now I think I'd be happy to have Garlick back in charge. So many improvements while he was chairman.
I'm sure he wouldn't deliberately jeopardise everything he had done.

Re: Summer 2021 Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
Yes, that's true, but what I'm saying is that at least with Garlick at the helm we really knew in our hearts that any transfer rumour or speculation was just going to be exactly that and at the same time we had loads of cash hiding under the stairs. With this lot (who I absolutely wanted to take over, I admit) we have been given genuine hope that we'd have a busy summer window after a very difficult (to say the least) season. However that genuine hope is rapidly turning to pipe dreams atm and we don't even have the cash under the stairs anymore. As I stated, we all knew Garlick wouldn't spend, but I allowed myself to hope things would now be different and I'm more than a tad disappointed (for now!)ClaretTony wrote: ↑Thu Aug 05, 2021 6:35 pmIf you are concerned about the position we are in, wasn’t it Garlick who landed us in this position?

Exactly why I very rarely post these days CT. Anything you say just gets hijacked by morons most of the time and turns into petty squabbles.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Thu Aug 05, 2021 6:34 pmThis week has been difficult for me this week for reasons away from this board and away from football. Personally I can’t tell the difference, but I’m sure that after a few more transfer windows, you’ll learn to cope with the constant disappointment once again.

I don't think so. The new owners like Dyche more than the old ones. They basically want to build around him.boatshed bill wrote: ↑Thu Aug 05, 2021 5:55 pmTBH, that job security was more the case with the old board.
You won't get that a Palace. You may be able to spend more but you'll also be expected to finish higher.
Re: Summer 2021 Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
The problem as I see it is that Garlick had an exit strategy for the last couple of years and this lead to the discontent in the camp at previous windows. Garlick did well for us as the custodian in the main, but did have a great deal of luck along the way. What is irking me is that he banged the drum about being a Burnley Fan first and foremost and all decisions taken are in the best interests of the club.
I am struggling to see where his decision to sell to ALK and accept a high leveraged payment for his shares was in the best interests of Burnley Football Club.
This deal at the moment would appear to have weakened our position in the transfer market - not a good predicament he has left us in.
I hope I'm wrong and the new owners are playing an extremely cool game of cat and mouse. We live in hope.

That's fair comment, however you could argue Pace & Co have made a rod for their own backs by raising expectations.PremierLeagueClass wrote: ↑Thu Aug 05, 2021 6:55 pmWhy on earth can’t people wait until the end of the window, there’s absolutely nothing to cast judgement on at the moment. We can only truly judge our transfer window come September, so let's hope we can do some late business, there is still 26 days to go I think.
Meanwhile let's also hope that our current players can put a win or two on the board early doors, if they can the whole atmosphere around the club could quickly change.

I think one of the problems Charlie is that we have the odd poster who puts up a different name nearly every day which I’m taking is from all the different sites visited.
This is unhelpful and makes it look like the new owners are failing in their efforts .

Re: Summer 2021 Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
ALK should have come in low profile not with this aura of "don't worry about January window, watch us go in summer" well we're watching and..............watching.
It's OK people saying "the windows not shut yet" and there right, but these can't be our 1st targets surely ??
11th May 2021 when we won that Monday night at Fulham everyone connected with a stable club knew that season 2021/2022 we were in the premier league and yet again fumbling around with the begging ball out.
Yes Collins looks a good signing BUT we know for a fact June 2021 we lose one of our better/ our best player in Tarks. So even if Collins is as good as tarks (and that's some standard !!!) were no better off !!!!!!
Combined with retired ex players on trial and the ticket walk on prices is there any wonder there frustration around the place. If Brighton score 1st a week on Saturday or best us Mr Pace might get a taste of that frustration.
