Sorry to hear that all is not well for you at present. Keep your chin up, the vast majority of messageboard members appreciate the work that you have put in for many years to keep us informed.

Tarks is going to run out his contract, be a free agent, get a nice signing on fee and a decent wage rise just like Jeff hendricks did - remember ??Juan Tanamera wrote: ↑Thu Aug 05, 2021 8:23 pmI must have missed the bit where we lost Tarks in June.
If you think otherwise I suggest you start counting flying pigs

Who does know who the specific targets are ? That will be a very small select few .randomclaret2 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 05, 2021 8:24 pmI was wondering if you actually knew about particular targets, or if you were just hopeful that we did ?
Putting aside all the many question marks posters are happy to put down about Pace , I’m more likely to wake up tomorrow having grown a pair of horns than there be no more signings made before the end of the transfer window
Re: Summer 2021 Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
I have two relatives who work at Burnley football club but the Ings info come from the Web so I can't take any credit lol
Re: Summer 2021 Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
You can certainly sense the frustration on this thread at the moment. '
I just think one decent signing out wide would make everyone feel a whole lot better and properly unite around the team for the new season.

Just pointing out the obvious.

Still in the running for Cornet according to Nixon. Is this a bad time to suggest that I don’t think he’ll be that good if he joins?

I haven’t felt a sense of excitement of a new signing coming on from the bench to make his debut for quite some time, it gives the crowd a huge lift and just changes the mood massively. I look forward to it

Frustration is the key word, but we may have to be patient and hold our nerve until the final hours of the window, it's not ideal I know, and we'd all like signings in before the campaign kicks off, but unlike clubs such as Man City we can't simply throw money around carte blanche.

If he or his agent has made it clear to us that he doesn't want to sign for Burnley, there is no way on Earth we are still chasing him.

Agree always going to be the way. The only plus is none of the 3 supposed main targets at the moment have signed for anyone else yet!tiger76 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 05, 2021 9:08 pmFrustration is the key word, but we may have to be patient and hold our nerve until the final hours of the window, it's not ideal I know, and we'd all like signings in before the campaign kicks off, but unlike clubs such as Man City we can't simply throw money around carte blanche.

Frustration?
This window is far better than the last one: Hennessey is better than Norris and Collins is better than Stevens Smile!

We've just got to hope a big deal like City have just completed will kick-start the rest of the market and get things moving for us too.tiger76 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 05, 2021 9:08 pmFrustration is the key word, but we may have to be patient and hold our nerve until the final hours of the window, it's not ideal I know, and we'd all like signings in before the campaign kicks off, but unlike clubs such as Man City we can't simply throw money around carte blanche.
I think we all need a bit of a lift soon though.

Re: Summer 2021 Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
Scored 50 in 250 and some of them at LB. 1 in 5 is way better than Dwight. I’m not saying he’s a better player but them figures in Ligue1 can’t be sniffed at.
Re: Summer 2021 Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
Yes no investment in players which allowed him to bank more cash to the detriment of the club
Re: Summer 2021 Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
The Cornet link doesn't make much sense to me if he plays on the left. Unless the plan is to cash in on McNeil soon and we're trying to get his replacement in early.

Can play left or right, as can Dwight who can also play central

Sorry, Joey, that's not the same thing.
The club had money in the bank, he sold his shares to someone who (it appears) used the club's money to buy them.
Have I got this right?

or maybe Dyche remembers how good McNeil was away at Palace in a free role and sees that as an option in certain games

Re: Summer 2021 Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
Taken in isolation they are decent enough signings, WH is an experienced reliable back-up if required, and Collins I hope will be Tarks long term replacement, after he's had a season to settle in, but we need a couple more through the door, a RW is an absolute must, and if we could get another CM in that would be a brucie bonus. But if funds are stretched I'd settle for just a RW in this window, obviously as long as no-one else leaves the building.boatshed bill wrote: ↑Thu Aug 05, 2021 9:15 pmFrustration?

Re: Summer 2021 Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
Do you watch much French football to say whether he will or won't be?
Looked very good against Man City in the CL but that was only two matches, so it's hard to say whether he'll be any good on a consistent basis.
Re: Summer 2021 Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
Me too, however I think Dwight is too 1 footed to play centrally, just show him to the right and he will always go back, however anyone stupid enough to shoe him the left will be quickly bypassed by him.boatshed bill wrote: ↑Thu Aug 05, 2021 9:33 pmI'd love it if it meant we change formation and used Dwight centrally.

I’m sure it was posted on here by someone who used to watch the youth team that behind the striker was his favoured role. Dyche obviously has always been quite stubborn in his formation (our success will say he’s right) but might give him more freedom to change.boatshed bill wrote: ↑Thu Aug 05, 2021 9:33 pmI'd love it if it meant we change formation and used Dwight centrally.

Re: Summer 2021 Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
I really do think the plan is to allow Dwight to roam rather than play down the left which would then allow for another left sided player to come be that Cornet or whoever.Hedontplayforyou wrote: ↑Thu Aug 05, 2021 9:32 pmCan play left or right, as can Dwight who can also play central
But one thing is certain, we need to bring in new wide players whether they be starters or cover.

But what if we change formation to using wing-backs?

Re: Summer 2021 Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
True! but as a fellow poster correctly pointed out to me earlier, Newcastle have yet to make a single purchase in this window, so a lack of incomings isn't confined to just Burnley.
I don't want to drift off topic too much, but if we can get our first XI onto the park most weeks, we'll probably be ok, the issue is when we experience an injury or two, now hopefully given our more normal routine this year, we shouldn't suffer the plethora of absences we endured for periods of the previous campaign.

Seriously, we have nowhere near the strength in depth to allow us into such a drastic change. Anyway, recent history tells us that won't be happening even if we DID have the country's largest and most versatile squad...

Genuine question as I’ve only watched a smattering of play from him: If Pep Guardiola thinks he’s a quality talent while scoring against and beating Manchester city in Champions League football, what is suggesting to you that he won’t “be that good if he joins?”
TIA!

Everybody since then have aged so logically you would expect more injuries not less but it’s impossible to say for sure but like for like you would get more injuries, unless the treatment team have conjured up some sort of recovery methods defying medical science in between that spell to now & onwards.tiger76 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 05, 2021 9:47 pmTrue! but as a fellow poster correctly pointed out to me earlier, Newcastle have yet to make a single purchase in this window, so a lack of incomings isn't confined to just Burnley.

Many, many successful business people have tried and failed when it comes to running a football club.
I’m not waving the white flag just yet but we cannot end the transfer window with the squad we currently have, it’d be footballing suicide.

I've had a bad week this week but I just put it down to how hard life can be sometimes.
Not that anyone on here needs to know about it or set up a JustGiving page or owt.
If you can't handle criticism on the internet, then you really need to volley your phone into the canal.
By the way, this thread is shite. Apologies to all those who have had a bad week.

Well I cannot resist expressing my opinion.
1, The structure of the new company with financial support was designed to allow investment to assure the ultimate object (Value of the company/club). Some investment might need to come first. Otherwise why bother?
2. The individuals on the new board have an impressive level of experience in this kind of business. If you compare CV's of all the PFL boards we would not be embarrassed.
I really don't see how they will or can not find the resources.
