Biggest hits this season

Post by tiger76 » Sun May 09, 2021 11:32 am

So as we have a thread about the flops it's only fair we should have one about the success stories.

Kelechi Iheanacho.
Jesse Lingard.
Leeds as a team would have to be on the list.
Dawson at West Ham.

Is there any more that spring to mind?

Credit where its due to Iheanacho, its taken him a few years to properly get going since he signed back in 2017 but he's done very well at Leicester this year and starting to justify his transfer fee.

OGS st Utd, done a good job this season, surprisingly.

Calvert-Lewin at Everton has been very impressive.

Martinez the Villa GK, probably surprised Arsenal more than anyone else

Leeds have been excellent and have got stronger as the season as progressed. Leeds have organised the defence and with their finances, I would expect even more progress next season

I am going to throw Cavani in the hat.

Did not expect him to do well.

Martinez - Villa
Jon Stones - City
Dacoure - Everton not the same without him.
Soucek and Coufel - two magnificent signings.

Mahrez would be on my short list for FOTY.
To stand out in a City team that looks likely to be crowned PL champions is some achievement.
Some quality goals and assists to back up consistent top level performances. It hasn’t mattered who the opposition has been , he’s done the business.
Rare for a City team not to have him in the starting line up this season. This hasn’t always been the case since they signed him
