A good night, a good report but a very bad ref.
Nice to hear the positiveness re Dyche possibly staying and signing a new contract. I hadn’t realised that relations between him and Garlick were so bad until I read the discussions on here today - a rum old world but a happy ending.

Amazing to think that just over a decade ago we were so happy to simply be in this league that some fans would dance all night for the honour of being well beaten at places like Craven Cottage.

We're now set for our sixth season in a row.

Great times.

You saved me asking, CT. So new fixtures out Wednesday 16th June.

Glad you made reference to the excessive amount of loan players at Fulham. Maybe a name change to Fulham Loan Rangers would be appropriate. Hopefully the loan rules will be revised to stop them being abused. I don’t dislike Fulham but relegation for them is true Karma. Also the commentator last night made reference to our last top flight win at Fulham being in 1965/66 when we won 5-2 inc a hat trick from Willie Irvine ( of course)

When a lot hinges on the outcome of a game( especially for one of the sides) I try and put myself in the shoes of an opposition fan. No doubting they needed to win but what would they be most fearful of? The ball in or around their penalty box was my thinking but the two goals close to each other and just before half time were the coup de grace. They 'huffed and puffed' after the interval and the throwing on of even more strikers just highlighted the gulf between the approach of both managers. Not a great performance from us but good enough to beat the current Fulham side.

I too thought the game that said we weren't going down was the win at Everton, even though we had those defeats in the games after. But West Brom and Fulham weren't picking up points and I always thought we had an extra gear on them.
So it proved with the big win at Wolves.

Good report.

During the match I get it, and I wasn't over relaxed when they did get the ball into our box, but I have had absolutely no doubt since winning at Everton that we were all but home and dry.

With regards to the current bottom three, does anyone know if there has been an occasion that all the relegated clubs have earned less than 30 points? It’s certainly possible this season.

I think the closest to that is the season when we went down in 2010. Looking at the table both ourselves and Hull finished on 30, with Portsmouth on 19.

We won the last game against Spurs to make our total look more respectable, so it wouldn't be a surprise for Fulham or West Brom to get 3-4 points from the last three meaningless games (for them) to end up with a similar total.

Or has there been a season where all 3 are relegated with 3 games to play?

It hasn’t happened previously

I’m sure they said last night that this is the first time.
