CCTV
Anyone recommend someone to fit a wireless cctv system I just bought
really thought there wasn't much to it but it's certainly beyond me, had some ridiculous quotes when I rang a couple of local firms
Thanks in advance for advice

Re: CCTV
Cant recommended anybody but cost wise.
It took me a day to install mine. On my tod, 3 storey house. I thought at the time it be better with 2 guys.
So if it were 2 men for a day say 4/500 quid. Is that anywhere near the quote ?

Re: CCTV
One didn't seem to know what he was talking about
The other said £90 + vat for first hour then £30 per half hour +vat
I also asked for a price for a 1 TB hard drive which was £50 +vat. they are £30 on ebay

Re: CCTV
What system is it and what issues are you having with the installation, is it the set up of it or physically mounting the cameras?
If the former, you might get the necessary advice on here or through somewhere like avforums and save yourself any additional outlay.

It's a Zxtech ultra mini 5mp. Issue is with setting it up as I'm useless with computers

How far have you got with the setup?Accrington claret wrote: ↑Thu May 20, 2021 9:57 pmIt's a Zxtech ultra mini 5mp. Issue is with setting it up as I'm useless with computers
Assume the camera is positioned and you’ve connected the hub to your router?
How are you wanting to use the camera - live video on PC and / or phone?

Re: CCTV
Not far at all, managed to find the ip address then struggling to connect cameras to wifi.
The cameras are going outside and I really don't fancy my chances of my drill going through Accrington nori
so need someone who knows what they're doing, which certainly isn't me

Re: CCTV
I have a little known brand wireless camera that was given to me and that was a pain in the arse to connect. It was literally a case of repeating the steps in the instruction until it eventually worked. Since getting a new router, I’m back to the same issue with that camera but the nest cams were a doddle.Accrington claret wrote: ↑Fri May 21, 2021 11:40 amNot far at all, managed to find the ip address then struggling to connect cameras to wifi.

I’d keep persevering with the connection and if you don’t get anywhere either drop the seller an email or see if you can return them.
If you get it connected and don’t fancy putting the cameras up yourself, I’d look for a handyman rather than a camera installation firm.

Re: CCTV
Not a problem getting someone to put them up
Problem is setting them up which I'm struggling with. i'll email the seller as the instructions are vague, thanks for advice

Re: CCTV
Latest is I've had enough of trying to set the wireless system up
It's being sent back in exchange for a wired system
lesson learned
