That is true he hits a long ball. Would love to be in that Norden meeting on Saturday night to decide the team for Sunday. Wonder if they will be using pint glasses to set the tactics

Not LL related but there was a hell of a knock yesterday, when for Kent there was a partnership of 166 with 1 of the batters scoring just 1 run!

Lowerhouse 143-6 after 42 end of innings

Tannoy has just announced that Ken Shapcott has exposed local cricketer after 2 years of investigation work, hats off to his persistence.

Wicket a bit wet, I think Lowerhouse look 10-20 short but who knows

I thought that the teams were always picked on Tuesday night by the selection committee, pinned up on the notice board and in the telegraph on Friday?

In the Ribb league it looks like Earby have got themselves a star. Harry Brindle whose mum played for England, has just got 5 for 12 off 10 overs in the first team at the age of 12.

Well played young un.

He does indeed do a cracking job. Which is why it is only fair that you acknowledge it rather than posting it under your own name.

(Quite aside from the fairness of it, it's also a legal issue in posting large amounts of copyright material without even an acknowledgement. All published material is automatically copyright of its author.)

Absolute farce of a way to decide any game. Surely reserve dates needed or at least a bowl out on the outfield. Anything is better than that. Presumably if its a washout all over the first round gets decided like that? Joke.

You’d think so but if presume it’s difficult to fit into the calendar. Not sure how you can have one game decided by a bowl out and one by the toss off a coin.

In good news at least Colne haven’t lost on a Sunday for the first time this season. Be dancing in The Rodney tonight

The rules seems a bit loose on it as you suggest. It's more annoying as we had set them a decent target of 189. There are plenty of weekends where only the league game is played. The only double weekends are Worsley cup weeks. Considering it is akin to the CL of Lancashire cricket it's a bit of a shambles.

I think the problem could be that Lancs League play sundays and most these leagues play Saturdays

That’s right.

It is an absolute farce of a way to decide a game

The issue with replays is that the Lancs League already have to disrupt their schedule quite a bit to fit the LKO in.

Absolute farce of a way to decide any game. Surely reserve dates needed or at least a bowl out on the outfield. Anything is better than that. Presumably if its a washout all over the first round gets decided like that? Joke.
Would it not be the captains that decide between a bowl out or coin toss?

I watched a bit of the Padiham Settle bowl out on a live stream. I was a bit surprised when each bowler had two goes each. When did the rules change?

In the Ribb league it looks like Earby have got themselves a star. Harry Brindle whose mum played for England, has just got 5 for 12 off 10 overs in the first team at the age of 12.

Well played young un.
Mum Arran also played in the game. I assume they must have moved back into the area. She used to play for Thornton in Craven in the Craven League as a youngster.
