Morecambe-Tranmere
Just kicked off the Shrimpers 2-1 up from the 1st leg, but if yesterday is anything to go by they'll be drama right until the final whistle.

Re: Morecambe-Tranmere
Thrilling start Tranmere hit the post, and Morecambe immediately go upfield and take the lead, they're now in pole position for a trip to Wembley.

Re: Morecambe-Tranmere
Sam Lavelle, the Morecambe Captain, was the Captain of Lancashire Schools' F.A. Under 16 Boys in 2012-2013 when Lancashire won the English Schools' Trophy by beating Greater Manchester at the Ricoh Arena on penalties. Sam scored the winning penalty and his dad Ben Lavelle was the Lancashire Team Manager! Ben went on to become the Team Manager of England Under 18 Schoolboys and will be a keen spectator today. Morecambe have just taken the lead !!

Looks to be some bad feeling between the two teams, can't see the game ending 11v11

Re: Morecambe-Tranmere
Ryan Cooney having another good game
He reminds me of Kieron Trippier, good tackler and good distribution
I hope we are talking about extending his deal he certainly looks the part albeit in Div 2

Re: Morecambe-Tranmere
Brilliant social distancing behind both goals... Seems daft after everything other clubs have had to go through to put games on

1-0 Morecambe at HT, so far so good for them. Tranmere have dominated the ball but created little with all that possession.

Re: Morecambe-Tranmere
Vaughan touches one in whilst leaning on the post. Had to be offside but amazingly he wasn’t. Shrimpers had two also on the line.

Re: Morecambe-Tranmere
15 to play Morecambe still going to Wembley as it stands, but it's getting tense.

Re: Morecambe-Tranmere
Cooney booked for standing still. I hate that decision. If someone pushes it past you and you move to block them fair enough but when the defender stands still it is the forwards fault.

Re: Morecambe-Tranmere
Vaughan booked after sliding into keepers face with his studs. Should have been red, whether he went for the ball or not. It was dangerous.

One of my main annoyances is this.minnieclaret wrote: ↑Sun May 23, 2021 2:07 pmCooney booked for standing still. I hate that decision. If someone pushes it past you and you move to block them fair enough but when the defender stands still it is the forwards fault.
What is the defender meant to do?

Re: Morecambe-Tranmere
The Morecambe keeper Kyle Letheren has pulled off a number of top class saves this afternoon to keep their noses in front in this tie. And they're almost over the line now.

Morecambe through to the final what a season they're having, and Ryan Cooney is going to Wembley.

Re: Morecambe-Tranmere
Derek Adams has done a hell of a job there. I don’t think they’ve ever been far from the bottom since getting into the league. Looks as though Morecambe will need to win though to keep him.

Re: Morecambe-Tranmere
Even a win in the final might not be enough to keep him TBH, especially if the likes of say Sunderland come calling for instance, his success won't have gone unnoticed in the lower reaches, and if clubs are having to trim their budgets he'll be on the radar of many clubs, as he's shown what he can do on a shoestring budget.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Sun May 23, 2021 2:33 pmDerek Adams has done a hell of a job there. There's now an ever growing number of ex-Clarets going into management, admittedly some more successfully than others, just ask Joey Barton how tough that gig can be, but on the other side you've got the likes of Cook, Duff & north of the border Alexander & Mellon cutting their teeth in management, and by and large doing pretty well.

It’s Bradford City who are expected to get Adamstiger76 wrote: ↑Sun May 23, 2021 2:43 pmEven a win in the final might not be enough to keep him TBH, especially if the likes of say Sunderland come calling for instance, his success won't have gone unnoticed in the lower reaches, and if clubs are having to trim their budgets he'll be on the radar of many clubs, as he's shown what he can do on a shoestring budget.

Ah! right big club, but they've had not had their troubles to seek in recent years, for Derek Adams sake I hope whatever he decides it all works out for him.

Re: Morecambe-Tranmere
Could be a tasty final if it’s against Newport and their ex striker Ellison! No love loss between him and Derek Adams.
