Where’s Mee?
Where’s Mee?
Re: Where’s Mee?
Has our Ben ever played in the final game of the season before?
Re: Sheffield United vs Burnley | Match day thread
Good job it’s our last game
Re: Sheffield United vs Burnley | Match day thread
1 up top against a team already relegated is a joke tbh.

Mee’s not on the bench.

Even I think we've thrown in the towel for today's game!

Re: Sheffield United vs Burnley | Match day thread
Don’t understand the five across midfield for a game like this.
Re: Sheffield United vs Burnley | Match day thread
Vydra has been as good as anybody in last few games
Re: Sheffield United vs Burnley | Match day thread
Didn’t agree with our formation and starting line up last time out and don’t agree with our formation and starting line up this time out.
Fingers crossed I’m eating humble pie and we pick up a convincing win.

Can't win or lose - when we play two up front people moan about playing that way.

Ironic that you all say Dyche is too rigid but when he try’s something different you criticise him!
Let’s just see what happens.

Is Mee injured?
Re: Sheffield United vs Burnley | Match day thread
Vydra is unfortunate to be the one to miss out with this change in formation, but it looked OK against Liverpool.
I thought it brought a bit more out of Brownhill, who I’m still to be convinced by.
Possibly an eye on next season?

Re: Sheffield United vs Burnley | Match day thread
What happened to that brimming confidence when you challenged my 1-0 defeat forecast. I think I would take that right now. If Sheffield get an early goal infront of their first home crowd all season I dare not think what might happen. So much for SD'ds injury update
Re: Sheffield United vs Burnley | Match day thread
I presume BPF not playing is an admission that he has no future as number one were Nick Pope to leave.
Re: Sheffield United vs Burnley | Match day thread
Really isn’t a criticism. I’ve always preferred us to play 2 up top no matter the opposition and I think we should be taking the game to an already relegated Sheffield United.Sunny Cornwall wrote: ↑Sun May 23, 2021 3:09 pmIronic that you all say Dyche is too rigid but when he try’s something different you criticise him!

I’m really not sure 4-5-1 with that starting line up will do that but hope I’m proven wrong.
Come on you Clarets!

Re: Where’s Mee?
I would suspect thigh/groin injury.
He pulled something in the first half on Wednesday but carried on.

Re: Sheffield United vs Burnley | Match day thread
I presumed Nick Pope would be playing. Had he done so our first 11 is a level above Sheff United's team. Norris is never going to be anything other than a reserve keeper.warksclaret wrote: ↑Sun May 23, 2021 3:11 pmWhat happened to that brimming confidence when you challenged my 1-0 defeat forecast. So why not try a system that lets us use Vydra Wood and Jay Rod it’s Sheff Utd not Man CIty .Sunny Cornwall wrote: ↑Sun May 23, 2021 3:09 pmIronic that you all say Dyche is too rigid but when he try’s something different you criticise him!

having a well earned rest. Gives us the chance to see what Dunne is like against the worst team in the league
Re: Where’s Mee?
He’s been dropped so Tarky can captain us on his final appearance for the club

Re: Sheffield United vs Burnley | Match day thread
Exactly! people were crying out for Sean to try something different, and then when he does he gets brickbats, surely now we're safe it makes sense to experiment and see if 4-5-1 is effective with this personnel.Sunny Cornwall wrote: ↑Sun May 23, 2021 3:09 pmIronic that you all say Dyche is too rigid but when he try’s something different you criticise him!

And it's not like the bench is particularly weak, so if we need to we can throw a few on later in the game.

City seem to do OK when they play with no strikers. It's not the formation, it's what you do with it.BurnleyFC wrote: ↑Sun May 23, 2021 3:12 pmReally isn’t a criticism. Maybe Gudders will get his Mojo working?
As has already been said, it looked good against Liverpool.

Re: Where’s Mee?
Not clear just why Norris is playing again?? Surely he's our no. 3 keeper!
Re: Sheffield United vs Burnley | Match day thread
As for Sheff United, they are at the bottom of the Prem for one simple reason. They are out of their depth in this league.warksclaret wrote: ↑Sun May 23, 2021 3:11 pmIf Sheffield get an early goal infront of their first home crowd all season I dare not think what might happen. Could Mee be leaving this summer? Only a year left on his contract hasn’t he?

Re: Sheffield United vs Burnley | Match day thread
I wonder whether Dyche wants to have another look at Norris with a view to selling either him or BPF in summer. Either that or he’s already decided that BPF will be replaced.
Re: Where’s Mee?
No he’s been dropped so Tarky can look exposed, that way no one will want to buy him.

The other keeper is shell-shocked. This one just isn't that good. Or let's hope he was just overawed at playing in the prem, for more than a minute.

It doesn’t matter if Dunne is leaving he’s our only other fit centre half.
Why on earth would you come to the conclusion Mee is leaving?? Bizarre.
Re: Sheffield United vs Burnley | Match day thread
A point today would give us a points total over 5 seasons of 40, 54, 40, 54, 40.

And fans complained when we had Heaton, Pope and Hart all on our books, plus the ex United keeper who played in one of the Europa rounds

The line up is just the best we've got, we are down to the bare bones.
Not sure why Norris is playing again mind, he should have done better with 2 if not all 3 of the goals against liverpool.
BPF confidence must be really shot, and/or they really not trust him.
They seem to be protecting him

I agree with vagas : with nothing at stake it's good to try a different formation . Against Liverpool i thought it worked ok . Utc
