Houses to let?

Post by Goobs » Mon May 24, 2021 5:25 pm

Just wondering if anybody on here knows of any houses coming up for rent in Burnley / Pendle?

Ideally looking for a 3 bedroom semi or detached house with a garden.

Not wanting to exceed 900pcm if possible.

I'm looking at houses for a work colleague in Burnley/Accrington area and wow the rental prices are phenomenal for what you get. £350 pcm for a 1 bed room.

I've found Zoopla is not bad for finding rentals. Also I've seen a few private lets in the Ightenhill area when walking the dog but they tend to go pretty quickly.

Good luck

Anything with outdoor space is probably going for a premium still with what has happened over last 14/15 months.

Facebook marketplace and groups that are local to the area may be a place where you can find landlords directly but outside the usual spots of rightmove, zoopla and on the market.

Mate of mine who lives in Rosegrove has been looking for the same for over a year now with no luck
They go up and are snapped up immediately without a chance to view

House prices have gone mental. Government need to pull the stamp duty holiday immediately as I’m not sure it’s only that driving it.

Can only imagine we’re heading for a correction!

I’d have thought £900pcm for a three bed semi/detached in Burnley would be fairly easily achievable.

It has been pulled from July 1.

I met some people on Saturday morning who still have to pay £80,000 in stamp duty. In their thirties with a young kid. You can buy several houses for that much in parts of, say, Durham.

80000? To pay that much in Stamp Duty their house would have to be worth almost 1.5 million.

For a 500k house you’ll pay 15k in Stamp Duty from October.

It's a terrace with a loft and rear extension in London. Prices in some parts of London are extreme still - even though people are reportedly moving out as lockdown has been an easier ride outside the cities.

Looked in to that earlier - tapering from June. Will be interesting to see the impact that has on house sales. I can see quite a few falling through given the level of inflation recently.

I was looking at some new houses that were sold in December 19. I actually thought they were a bit over priced then, but there is one currently under offer for £150k more than its sale price less than 18 months on. That is ludicrous. I'm not sure who is offering but I think when Stamp Duty returns to normal levels in October there will be some wishing they'd held off moving.

That’s what a lot of people said about the market this time last year. I’m sure there was one plonker on here saying he was reducing his agreed offer on a house because he believed everything was about to crash. The truth is no one knows what will happen.

Houses in Burnley and Pendle are still cheap compared to neighbouring Rossendale where the prices are 50% plus more
