Good luck to him.
Shame that injury hindered him so much because he looked a really good player.

Best for all that he moves on and rekindles his career elsewhere.

Excellent article. Good interview from Robbie, very respectful.

I hope he gets fixed up with a decent club and gets back his fitness. When he was at his peak 4 years ago, he was one of the better players to have played for the club under SD, it's a real shame that it never really worked out after that.

Good luck Robbie and CHEERS.

A real shame he picked up the injury when he did,

Sadly he’s not looked like he’s up to the rigours of being a professional footballer since.
I hope he manages to turn it round and put a good run of games together somewhere else.

His free kick v Chelsea was some introduction but he just never recovered from the injury he sustained at Leicester. Since then it's been very frustrating for all parties. Interesting to see where he goes and how he gets on. A lower division perhaps?

Inevitable and I don't think anyone could argue with the decision. But there's a real disappointment in this because we found out just how good a player he is in the period prior to the bad injury. I wish him nothing but the best.

A sad, but not unexpected departure.
I'll hold onto the memory of that free kick against Chelsea, and that awesome spell prior to the Leicester game.
I hope he finds his fitness, and a new club at a decent level.

Unfortunately, never justified the fee we paid for him.

Brilliant first game, followed by on and off performances.

Pity he got that injury, but all in all just not enough for me.

Good luck to the lad

"Never justified the fee" in that he picked up a serious injury that as good as finished his playing days at the top level. I don't think he did it deliberately....

A very classy interview from the lad, I wish him well.

It's easy, because of the injury, and the time since to forget just how good he was in the first half of that 2017/18 season. We lost him in December and then Defour in January and what a shame that was because they were both in terrific form.

Funny about memories of Brady. Of course there's the goal v Chelsea and hitting the post against them in the next season at Stamford Bridge, his finish this season against Everton, that superb goal at Ewood too in the League Cup but I also recall him hitting the bar twice against us with sensational free kicks for Hull.

The right decision for all parties, Robbie was never going to get regular minutes at Burnley, and although it's a sad way for his Clarets career to end but we couldn't justify giving him another contract especially with his injury woes.

Was he a good signing? on balance unfortunately I'd have to see no, he cost £13m and was our record singing at the time, yet 87 appearances in 4 and a half years at a club with a relatively small squad says it all for me I'm afraid, Robbie did show glimpses of his class, and prior to that terrible injury he suffered at Leicester he was probably enjoying his best spell of form with us, but since that day he's never threatened to be able to contribute on a consistent basis for the club.

I genuinely hope for Robbie's sake that he does get a new club, he's still only 29 so could yet offer somebody value as a free agent, however his injuries might count against him in this respect. perhaps a Championship club will take a punt on him, or indeed Celtic who he's been heavily linked with for quite a few windows now.

My abiding memory of Brady has to be that wonder strike against Chelsea, who at the time were running away with the league, and had a star-studded line-up that day,

Looking forwards hopefully Robbie's departure will free up wages for any incomings, and if we didn't before we definitely need a RW now, come hell or high water one must be signed in this window no excuses.

I don't even think he was that good when he was very good - he just managed to have half a dozen games in a row when he was better than alright.

I'm not one for disparaging our players at all, but words like exceptional and outstanding is just hyperbole and nothing about his career before or since suggests he was capable of doing it over a full season so we've hardly missed out on his abilities.

Some things you will never forget Edison and that's one of them still makes me smile standing behind the goal where he scored .

Very Sad to see Robbie leave but like it has been said we all knew it was coming .

Will always be one of my favs in a Burnley and Ireland shirt .

Thanks Robbie good luck to yer .

Tries to be cute and clever with the ball and with his passes, which half the time don't have enough on them to find his man (even if they're just 10 yards away).

But injuries have definitely hampered him whilst he's been here, and he seems a likable chap, so......... there.

He always left me feeling a little cold after being so exited at his arrival on deadline day. I did really enjoy his purple patch in the Autumn of 2017 though when he put some quality shifts in. What terrible luck he had to receive such an injury at that time.

I wish him well though and I hope he finds his feet again.

A very talented player and he seems a really decent man.

Bad luck with injuries robbed us of seeing him regularly play at the top of his potential.

I hope he has more luck in the rest of his career and he gets to show everyone what he can do (but not against us).

Thank you for the good times Robbie.

A real shame for him but the correct decision by Burnley. I suspect this might have happened last year had Dyche been backed in the transfer market.

A really good talent which showed for us in 2017 but that major injury at Leicester seems to have finished him off at any significant level.

Massive shame re his injuries but the right decision for BFC. We can't afford to be carrying players who are never fit.

If we could get a couple of new wingers signed I'd be getting shut of JBG for the same reasons (and I love JBG).

Not a bad player. Who seemed to stand out more against us than for us. He did have a decent run but ultimately as above his career has never shown him as a consistent top level left winger. He’s 29 now.

Great debut mind.

Reminds me of Ross Wallace. Only Wallace was more consistent.

Have to confess I was surprised that JBG got a new deal but he maybe managed to get fit at the right time while Brady got another injury just at the wrong time.

Brady and Gudmundsson both injury prone. They should both have been given frees but we can't afford to replace them both, that being the reason for keeping JBG.

Brady won't get a premier league club and wherever he goes he will have to take a substantial pay cut

It’s only two months since he played but he’s got the problem of trying to get a new club while injured. It shows the respect between him and our club that he will continue his rehab with our medical staff at Gawthorpe.

I presume you said exactly this on the day he signed ?
