OGS to be handed new 3yr deal.
Despite a number of top managers out of work, Utd are set to hand Ole a new 3yr deal after his steady efforts to return Utd to the top of English football.

He's doing a good job. They've won nothing for four years now.GodIsADeeJay81 wrote: ↑Fri May 28, 2021 11:01 amDespite a number of top managers out of work, Utd are set to hand Ole a new 3yr deal after his steady efforts to return Utd to the top of English football.

How on earth he keeps that job I will never know and I'm stunned that they were able to finish second in the Premier League.

Finished 2nd, got to a European final, and some cannot understand how he keeps his job? Makes him second best manager behind Pep... Not a bad place to be.

Utd have gone through a hiring and firing spree similar to spurs and have as much to show for it. The last time Utd had sustained success was when they hired a manager and allowed him tome to build a team, even when they were looking poor at first. I suspect that's the thinking now and rightly so

Happy with this. As long as OGS is in charge they will have issues. Nothing more than a puppet.

Spare me this "he got to a European final" nonsense. He got to the final of a competition they didn't want to be in and lost to an inferior team.
He's keeping his job because the owners don't give a **** as long as he finishes in the top 4 and the money keeps rolling in. Financially it doesn't matter if they actually win trophies or not. Their commercial revenue is huge and winning stuff wouldn't actually make a lot of difference.

Having won though, perhaps they weren't 'Inferior'?

He’s done OK, but I suspect they’ll be back to battling it out for 4th place again next year.

Re: OGS to be handed new 3yr deal.
Ole is a lucky boy a club of Utd's stature should be winning trophies, even the much maligned Jose won the EFL Cup and the EL in his 1st season.
And they finished 2nd with an incredibly low points total, mainly due to the rest being so inconsistent, that won't be the case come next season.
And questions have to be asked is Ole a winner, Man Utd have been in several semi-finals, and now a final and on each and every occasion they've simply not performed on the big stage,
And OGS himself has admitted their season hasn't been a success, and he's absolutely correct in that assessment, any campaign where a club of Utd's stature doesn't lift a trophy has to be classed as a failure.
And it's not like Ole hasn't had money to spend, AWB £50m, Maguire £80m, Fernandes £70m or so.
I will concede he's done wonders for Luke Shaw after Jose hung the lad out to dry, and Greenwood looks a prospect, but Utd's attitude and Ole's lack of subs in the EL final was baffling to say the least.
