Re: Lancashire league Cricket Bank Holiday Weekend
Great Harwood made 136ao against Lowerhouse. Was looking ropey for Harwood with 6 down and only 60 odd on the board . Pro run out for 0 in that unfortunate way when the bowler gets a touch on a straight drive.

Enjoyed it at Great Harwood today, cracking ground
That run out is on Lowerhouse account, so good but so unlucky, thought their pro bowled fantastic

He was very quick. Certainly took Ben and Jonny by surprise.Burnley1989 wrote: ↑Sat May 29, 2021 7:55 pmEnjoyed it at Great Harwood today, cracking ground

Thought the umpires were poor today. Missed their stonewall runout of Frankie (no wonder they were incensed) and two of the lbws were a joke too. Think Paddy had taken about 3 strides down the wicket.
Like you say a nice tidy ground.

Re: Lancashire league Cricket Bank Holiday Weekend
Gt Harwood put up a brilliant show yesterday, both on and off the field where everything looked a picture. Great game too, despite the lowish scores and not far from being a major upset. The Harwood pro is very rapid with the ball, but he's also an excellent batter and as mentioned above his freakish run out without even facing a ball was key to the game. As was the "run out" of Frankie for Lowerhouse when he was about 3 yards short of his ground and the ump was all at sea and let him stay. Very committed and enjoyable stuff from both teams!

How’d he end up at the non strikers end after a wicket? Or did he bat #2?Dark Cloud wrote: ↑Sun May 30, 2021 7:37 amGt Harwood put up a brilliant show yesterday, both on and off the field where everything looked a picture. Wicket fell on the final ball of the previous over, so pro went in, but wasn't facing.CharlieinNewMexico wrote: ↑Sun May 30, 2021 7:44 amHow’d he end up at the non strikers end after a wicket? Or did he bat #2?

164-6 Burnley at Middleton after 42. Lovely little ground here
Re: Lancashire league Cricket Bank Holiday Weekend
Enfield 99 AO at haslingden in div 2
Hassy should walk this league if Samit Patel stays on as the sub Pro for a while longer although he is off to the Caribbean T20 due to start at end of August
Haslingden in return 0-2
Patel out for a duck

Samit Patel has been playing all over the country as a pro recently. I guess he’s raking it in.

Re: Lancashire league Cricket Bank Holiday Weekend
Great day for league cricket yesterday.
Sun shining and a lift in the restrictions saw plenty of grounds fill up with people making the most of it.
A sticky deck at Lowerhouse saw great knocks from Jonny Whitehead and the pro followed by a never give up attitude to securing the bowling points.

Felt sorry for the bar staff on Colne yesterday, they were flat out all day. Hope they got a bit of a bonus!
