He did - was with us for a further two years

I remember Davis making his debut away at Scarborough 1987. Couldn't work out who he was as at first I thought Andy Farrell with the spiky blond hair when they came out to warm up until Faz ran out. Good defender for us.

Definitely debuted at Scarborough on loan from Crewe. When we bought him some of the fee was paid by the supporters club. I’ve a pic of a supporter presenting the cheque to Brian Miller on the supporters club’s behalf.

I’ve just had a word with the Burnley fan pictured. He bought the leather jacket in 1986 and threw it out just last year although he confessed he hadn’t worn it for a number of years.
