No, Dyche isn't taking us to Russia - it's the latest close season news from 1991

Did Ian Measham also subsequently accept the terms (or an improved offer)? Pretty sure he was part of the 91/92 team.

Steve Davis was only the second Player I was sad about leaving us. Billy Hamilton being the first.

Davis had been a good player for us too. I had a really good chat with him at Crewe in 2013 when he was manager there.

We’d started that season well and he said he’d been to our pre season game at Tranmere and left thinking we could be a promotion challenger. Good bloke is Steve.

I went on the Dynamo Brest game. It was a bit different as opposition goes I suppose. Wasn't the Ajax game the following pre-season?

Ajax was strangely a post season friendly

I remember Davis making his debut away at Scarborough 1987. Couldn't work out who he was as at first I thought Andy Farrell with the spiky blond hair when they came out to warm up until Faz ran out. Good defender for us.

Definitely debuted at Scarborough on loan from Crewe. When we bought him some of the fee was paid by the supporters club. I’ve a pic of a supporter presenting the cheque to Brian Miller on the supporters club’s behalf. 👇👇👇

I’ve just had a word with the Burnley fan pictured. He bought the leather jacket in 1986 and threw it out just last year although he confessed he hadn’t worn it for a number of years.
