The club is not going to stand in Tarkowski’s way if and when a bid comes in for him from Leicester or another club which meets their valuation.IanMcL wrote: ↑Mon Jun 07, 2021 12:20 pm40% to pass on to another club, reduces his actual sale worth to Burnley. Like others, I can see the thinking being to buy another 1 or 2 centre backs, bed him/them in and let Tarkowski go when we are satisfied we have super cover.
It may be that we soar up the league and he signs for us again, you never know! Not holding breath!
As we know Tarkowski is ambitious to move and it would be no surprise to me if Dyche has made a gentleman’s agreement with the player before the start of last season he wouldn’t stand in his way this close season

Crystal Palace END talks with Nuno Espirito Santo due to ex-Wolves boss' string of demands, with club chiefs concerned over Everton interest... as Eagles eye Sean Dyche or Steve Cooper.....
Re: Dyche to sign new contract !
I doubt Dyche would go to be third or fourth choice.

Burnley contract

Sean Dyche has agreed a new contract with Burnley / Chloe Knott - Danehouse/Getty Images
Exclusive - Burnley manager Sean Dyche has agreed terms on a new contract to stay at Turf Moor next season and beyond after receiving assurances from the club over transfer spending.
Burnley have generally been very frugal in the transfer market in recent years, which makes the job Dyche has done to keep them competitive in the Premier League, achieving top half finishes in both 2017/18 and 2019/20, even more remarkable.
But it has been a major source of frustration for a manager keen to take the club to that next level more consistently. 90min understands that he thinks Burnley have the potential to be a more regular top 10 Premier League side but must start being more competitive in the market.
The 49-year-old could even have left Burnley this summer and has been of long-term interest to Crystal Palace, now manager-less following Roy Hodgson’s recent departure.

Re: Dyche to sign new contract !
A short article in today's London Evening Standard, stating that talks with Nuno are over and that Steve Cooper and Sean Dyche are now back in the running for the managerial vacancy at Selhurst Park.
If Sean Dyche has, as reported above, signed a new deal it should be announced by the club on the official website before appearing in random articles elsewhere.

horrific paper and website though !
The Daily Mail article on 6 June 2021 stating that Dyche would be signing a new deal within the next 72 hours was qualified by the statement "unless there is an unexpected late approach".
With the Nuno deal falling through perhaps it's coming?

Re: Dyche to sign new contract !
If you were Dyche and you could take a cut in your bonus/wage to get a better transfer/wage budget for an extra player, would you do it?
I was thinking with the way he's paid, if he demands even more money it could mean a big chunk comes out of the budget for transfers and signings.

One of the reasons out there for Nuno turning down CP is that they want to slash their wage bill. Not as enticing when you read that.

He put up the winners of the POTY awards before the show apparently. He said his inside source gave him details of the winners of each award, and that same source is the one who says Dyche has signed a 4 year deal. AKA a load of old shite.

Re: Dyche to sign new contract !
Look how several "bigger" teams are struggling to replace managers at present, Everton, Palace, Spurs (Wolves just got a new one) . The moral is don't lose what you've got although I accept we would fish in smaller pools

Re: Dyche to sign new contract !
Hi superdimitri, it's an odd question you ask. Do you think Alan Pace would offer a new contract to Sean Dyche without increasing his pay? Such an offer doesn't really say "we want you to stay" in fact very much the opposite. All a cut in pay would do is make Sean Dyche cheaper to hire by another club - and that's not showing ambition either by BFC or by Sean Dyche.superdimitri wrote: ↑Wed Jun 09, 2021 6:20 pmIf you were Dyche and you could take a cut in your bonus/wage to get a better transfer/wage budget for an extra player, would you do it?

I'm sure both Alan Pace and Sean Dyche understand what needs to get done on the transfer/wages side. It won't be dependent on saving anything in Sean Dyche's pay and bonus.

To answer your question, I think Pace will offer him a increase...but my question was only hyphothetical...its got nothing to do with what I think will actually happen.
I think its well known Dyche gets paid very well. Its unusual for a manager to earn more than his players, but I'm pretty sure Dyche (on his current contract even) does. He is also said to have a big bonus for surviving relegation.
So my question really was, would you accept a lower wage/bonus as manager if there was promise of a higher transfer and wage budget?
These negotiations are a lot more complicated than only Dyche's personal earnings. Taking his personal earnings aside, they will also include things such as the wage and transfer budget he has to work on. Simply put, we are not a rich club and if he took less money himself, he'd have more to work with.
So my question is simply; would you personally ask for less money yourself to free up other money for transfers and wages?
I'd probably ask for a reasonable wage, but at the same time with a limited budget I'm not sure I'd feel it was right earning so much money if it meant the club couldn't sign another player.
