We need to be very careful we aren't frittering away precious millions.
With Tarkowski worth £0 next summer, if we were relegated who could we actually sell to try pay back debts and keep our head above water? Pope and Mcneil but that probably covers the debt.

Or there’s just a widening gulf in quality between the Championship and PL? I think it’s getting bigger and that is a risk to our strategy of it being our main market for player recruitment.Chester Perry wrote: ↑Wed Jun 30, 2021 6:12 pmQuick returns are becoming a more regular feature thanks to teams who go down being more prepared for the bounce (the key being they are all aligned internally) - and helped by parachutes. To KRBFC’s points, Wood has been linked with big moves away, as has Brownhill this summer. We’d have players in demand for sure, although I agree with the broader point that we now need to be replenishing the squad with younger players.

Re: Dyche to sign new contract !
A lot of worrying going on here about “the debt” yet we have no idea how much we hold, the terms, the controls established in the case of relegation, net debt when considering our debtors/cash, or ALK’s plans/ability to pay it down/raise new capital in the event of or before any such relegation scenario. We’re all just ****ing in the wind, frankly.
That’s not to say I don’t share some of the concerns about our new model, just recognise that we don’t actually know enough about it; it’s all speculation. More information will come available in time, at which point debate becomes more relevant.
Until then, we have to hope AP and his team know what they’re doing, MG wouldn’t have sold unless convinced they did, and there’s some exciting plans afoot. I’m certainly not going to spend a summer worrying about the investments they’re making given we’ve been starved of any for so long. It’s time to enjoy it.
Exciting times, etc.

Unless he’s already signed and it’s due to be announced then I doubt it’ll be in the next week or so, he’s pictured in the airport ready to board a plane to a Spanish island . Also on a separate picture with the same lads on Roy Hodgson interestingly enough.

Re: Dyche to sign new contract !
So now that CP have a manager and all current vacancies are filled... surely Dyche signs? If not, he’s waiting to see if he’s actually backed OR he doesn’t want to go any further at Burnley.

So you are saying that Sean Dyche hasn't signed a new deal because he was hoping that another Premier League club would offer him a job?

Re: Dyche to sign new contract !
Think he meant CP.
I was never convinced he was a serious candidate for any of the vacancies, possibly because he rebuffed any approaches.
I think his new contract was agreed in principle shortly after keeping us up and it’s either a case of the legals being finalised for him & his team, or that he wants to see how much ALK will back him before signing (which you can hardly blame him for).
Re: Dyche to sign new contract !
Hasn’t he got another 12 months left on his current contract? Why would he need to rush to sign another one?

West Ham I think. It was very tenuous and I think it was a rehash of an earlier link and mainly confined to twitter. Although so were Wood links, etc really.

Re: Dyche to sign new contract !
Somewhat strange comments from Dyche in an interview clip currently showing on SSN transfers
Interviewer was asking about speculation of McNeill being linked with Everton
Dyche replies that he (McNeill) is still with us and immediately also says (with no questioning about his own personal situation), "and so am I"
Then repeats he is still at Burnley otherwise he would not be doing that interview - almost like he wants to keep his own contract situation at the top of any discussions

He could be making the point that journalists have been asking questions about Dyche moving for many years now, and it seems they are going to do the same about McNeil.

He could have had a scotch egg before the interview and the thought of his gassy breath distracted him making him unsure whether the question he'd just answered was actually about himself. In his momentary panic he blurted out "so am I"

Re: Dyche to sign new contract !
Well with a couple of weeks to go to the season kicking off we have signed one player.
If we don’t sign anyone else then either Dyche may will be off or he has been assured by Pace that he won’t be sacked after relegation and has excepted the situation.
Of course if we do eventually sign 2 3 players that may be enough for us to survive and stay up again.
I look forward to hearing news of a couple of good signings at least.
