Dyche to sign new contract !
Re: Dyche to sign new contract !
I was referring to a signing that is probably going to become a 1st team regular and that’s one so far.

He's no mug. Wants to make sure he gets the backing he deserves.

He's still waiting to see who we have in place, once the window shuts and you can't blame him for that.

Re: Dyche to sign new contract !
There's also no great rush. It's not like a player's contract. We aren't going to lose out on a transfer fee if he doesn't sign quickly.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 06, 2021 9:05 amYes it sounds like he basically saying if I am backed I will sign the contract.

He does seem a bit hesitant. I hope things are OK behind the scenes with all the changes in staff, but lack of signings...

Absolutely.Gordaleman wrote: ↑Fri Aug 06, 2021 9:03 amHe's still waiting to see who we have in place, once the window shuts and you can't blame him for that.
Who can blame him for wanting some reference points for ALK before committing?
SD’s abilities are proven over 8 years or so & ALK have been able to work with him & see that over the last 8 months. Now it’s for them to prove they’ll work as hard for the club as he has done before he commits long term!

Re: Dyche to sign new contract !
Has Dyche ever given anything away he wasn't supposed to in an interview?

SD is a club man and a good diplomat. Personally I think if we have a lousy window he will stall on his contract. If he does sign before month end it will signal a good window. I think in his shoes most people would do the same

If Dyche does leave, we should go all out for Conte.

Well another link to the same interview is just a few posts above yours. Anyway, Sean doesn't seem to be in any rush, and why should he be?ClaretTony wrote: ↑Fri Aug 06, 2021 9:32 amMaybe, hadn't seen it, but over 100 have already clicked on the link I provided
I think most of us in his position would wait to see who he's able to bring in before signing anything.

we'd have to sell a first teamer every year to afford his wagesgandhisflipflop wrote: ↑Fri Aug 06, 2021 9:48 amIf Dyche does leave, we should go all out for Conte.

Now there is a manager who does:gandhisflipflop wrote: ↑Fri Aug 06, 2021 9:48 amIf Dyche does leave, we should go all out for Conte.
- disrupt harmony in a club
- throws out his dummy when he doesn't get what he wants and walks away
- makes Dyche's wages look like a bag of peanuts
I found it interesting/telling that no club has picked him up since leaving Inter Milan because on the face of it his record is one of a winner

Holding the club to ransom in my view
No one bigger than the club

Re: Dyche to sign new contract !
i assume that's tongue in cheek ?
8 years he's been here, and if any manager deserved to have money thrown at his feet for squad building its him.
teams have come and gone in this division with far bigger financial clout than Dyche has had at his disposal.
It is not a cliche to say he has worked miracles keeping Burnley in the top flight.
Who would want to have their professional reputation tainted and abilities questioned every week if promises of appropriate funding were not forthcoming ?
Its looking likely he will have to keep the team afloat on a relative shoestring budget, but that's far removed from holding the club to ransom if he takes time to ponder a few things.

Twix are tiny and absorbent. I've always found that a continental sized Toblerone meets my particular preference.

BTW - if Dyche doesn't re-sign, we've plenty of droobs on here that will successfully take his place.d
