I’m over the moon with it. Just can’t believe how much they offered.
Be interesting to see if he gets his bonus on top of that 6m salary. I think that would put him on nearly on par with guardiola and Klopp wouldn’t it?
How we should think about the wage and bonus structure that the club has set up:boatshed bill wrote: ↑Thu Jun 10, 2021 9:49 pm
They get paid a ridiculous amount of money to do their job properly.
I would say that their bonus, and incentive, would be to be able to command the same or better for the next season.
Here's hoping Paul. His signature followed shortly by our first signing of the windowPaul Waine wrote: ↑Fri Jun 11, 2021 10:20 amHow we should think about the wage and bonus structure that the club has set up:
Every season that the club finishes as a minimum 17th in the Premier League earns the club another season in the Premier League - and another £100+ million tv money. That's why and how the bonus money is earned. Each place higher in the table adds less than £2/3m to the club's revenue, so whether the club finishes 7th, 10th, 14th or 17th, it doesn't make that much difference, the manager, coaching staff and players will get a share of the position money - but not all of it. So, the bigger part of the bonus is earned by avoiding relegation and a smaller proportion for finishing higher up the table.
Newcastle, where do you get the "6m salary" from? I believe Sean Dyche's salary was reported to be £3.5m when he signed a few seasons back - though, I also think Sean Dyche's comment was "nothing like that..." I'd expect £3.5m to include his bonus. Similarly, when/if Sean Dyche signs a new contract the figure that is reported will include the "performance" element of his salary/wages. Maybe somewhere around £6m, including performance bonus, is the right level for an established Premier League manager at Burnley. Alan Pace/ALK will understand the "going rate" and will know that if they under-offer to Sean Dyche they will be guaranteeing his departure whenever another offer comes along.
Be great to get confirmation that Sean Dyche has signed a new contract.
Exciting times.

The fact there is no hard evidence to suggest it is going to happen today.

my take is basic salary - though it is only a report not fact - if true then the tight management and the strength of being able to say no has appeared to have left the boardroom - you also wonder how they can justify the very low ball salaries in recent job adverts at the club - I assume we will now shut down the "one club for all" sloganNewcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 11, 2021 12:58 pmHi Paul,
The 6m is what is being reported as his new salary. I don’t know if that’s basic or includes his bonuses.
The almost unanimous view is that Dyche is the most important member of staff at Burnley football club, by quite a long way. If the new owners have decided that they are happy and able to say yes to Dyche's demands in order to retain his services then I don't think that this signifies a lack of strength or tight management.Chester Perry wrote: ↑Fri Jun 11, 2021 1:11 pmmy take is basic salary - though it is only a report not fact - if true then the tight management and the strength of being able to say no has appeared to have left the boardroom - you also wonder how they can justify the very low ball salaries in recent job adverts at the club - I assume we will now shut down the "one club for all" slogan
my first reaction when I saw that figure was that the players are going to want an uplift - and may mean they offer Tarkowski something close to that which he thinks he is worth

Sooner the better. It was Neil Hart’s slogan with the community and he continued using it when he moved to work for the club. Should have been got rid of with him.Chester Perry wrote: ↑Fri Jun 11, 2021 1:11 pmI assume we will now shut down the "one club for all" slogan
personally I do not have an issue with the slogan as long as we live it - which is the crux of the issue, the difficulty is that it is quite rightly open to extremely broad interpretation and on that front the club has never lived up to it and from what we are led to believe neither did it's instigator Neil HartClaretTony wrote: ↑Fri Jun 11, 2021 1:37 pmSooner the better. It’s instigator definitely didn’t.Chester Perry wrote: ↑Fri Jun 11, 2021 1:44 pmpersonally I do not have an issue with the slogan as long as we live it - which is the crux of the issue, the difficulty is that it is quite rightly open to extremely broad interpretation and on that front the club has never lived up to it and from what we are led to believe neither did it's instigator Neil Hart
The easiest way for you to look at is is to write down all the things you think the slogan could mean in regards to the club and then ask yourself if the club have lived up to that - it if does then feel free to counter my viewsuperdimitri wrote: ↑Fri Jun 11, 2021 1:54 pmCan someone explain why we have never lived up to the slogan?
What has Hart (not) done to live up to it?
I've never really given the slogan any thought, but on 'One Club for All' just off the top of my head I can think of;Chester Perry wrote: ↑Fri Jun 11, 2021 2:19 pmThe easiest way for you to look at is is to write down all the things you think the slogan could mean in regards to the club and then ask yourself if the club have lived up to that - it if does then feel free to counter my view
You make some good points and I would include the DD scheme in affordability - that was really good and allowed any number of fans who may of struggled otherwise to get a season ticket.Rileybobs wrote: ↑Fri Jun 11, 2021 2:27 pmI've never really given the slogan any thought, but on 'One Club for All' just off the top of my head I can think of;
Inclusivity
-Family stand
-Modern disabled facilities
-Presumably and hopefully a high bar for inclusive employment
Affordability
-Amongst, if not the most affordable season tickets in the division
Community
-The work that the club does in the wider community
-Incentives such as free tickets for local school kids
-Inviting local kids teams to play on the pitch at half time

I got the impression it was Palace’s decision to be honest.
The reality is if we want to retain Sean's services then we'll need to pay the going rate, now £6m sounds a lot but I'd imagine a fair amount of that salary is based on us remaining a PL club, and yes SD is absolutely the bedrock of our success, so it makes sense to push the boat out to keep him if we can, as it doesn't bear thinking about how we'd manage to adequately replace someone of his stature.Rileybobs wrote: ↑Fri Jun 11, 2021 1:33 pmThe almost unanimous view is that Dyche is the most important member of staff at Burnley football club, by quite a long way. And whilst the players may want an uplift, I'd expect Dyche to know the financial restraints under which he has to work. And if that means some players, including Tarks moving on for more money then that gives Dyche the opportunity to continue justifying his enormous salary by getting the most out of the players available to him.
Please tell me how the board can attract players if the managerial situation is uncertain?
The managerial situation isn’t uncertain. We have a manager under contract.boatshed bill wrote: ↑Sat Jun 12, 2021 4:58 pmPlease tell me how the board can attract players if the managerial situation is uncertain?
Genuine question: Until when?ClaretTony wrote: ↑Sat Jun 12, 2021 5:08 pmThe managerial situation isn’t uncertain. We have a manager under contract.
If it’s that simple then there’s no need for us to give him all this extra money he’s after in his wage packet then.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Sat Jun 12, 2021 5:08 pmThe managerial situation isn’t uncertain. We have a manager under contract.
Another year
OK. I wondered if his contract was up.
He’s being offered more money to extend the duration of his contract. It is that simple.djemba-djemba wrote: ↑Sat Jun 12, 2021 5:14 pmIf it’s that simple then there’s no need for us to give him all this extra money he’s after in his wage packet then.
