Re: Today's Games
Commentators saying the Kane sub is “interesting “ as if it shouldn’t be happening. No need for the media to be asking that. Watching the same game as the rest of us. He’s off 55 minutes later than he should’ve been.
Re: Today's Games
Could’ve been a penalty but frankly England don’t deserve it anyway.

******** never a penalty. Maybe in the Premier league but not with decent continental officials.

Re: Today's Games
Had that been PL VAR, it would have been a penalty.
Re: Today's Games
Let’s just take a moment to remember that the jocks have Grant Hanley at the heart of their defence.
Grant Hanley. And we still don’t look remotely like scoring.

If this was your first ever watch of a football match and you didn’t know which team was which you’d think Scotland were the highest ranked team - they’re playing well

Not only does he take Foden off he then sticks Grealish on the wing. Clueless

From an England perspective everything many of us worried about with Southgate. Dull dull dull….

I think Gareth has out thought everybody and played for a draw.
Re: Today's Games
Dull as dishwater. Considering the supposed talent in the team we aren’t laying a glove on Scotland.

One positive; I drew Scotland in the work sweepstake. I'm not out of it yet.

Struggling to see why that was a free kick to Scotland there

Re: Today's Games
I'd love to know how Southgate is going to spin this in his interview, Ali Campbell & Dom Cummings combined would struggle to put a positive slant on this s^^tshow.
Re: Today's Games
If any positives are to come out of this then hopefully this tournament will be the last we see of Southgate.

Fully expecting them to be booed after, abject turgid performance

If you’re not beating the 3rd biggest team in Scotland then football isn’t coming home.

Another wasted generation because an inept manager doesnt know how to tactically utilise them or adapt to conditions

Some lovely, touching moments at the final whistle from both sets of players.

Re: Today's Games
well that was grim.
if we can't break down scotland we have no hope.
the amount of time we played square or backwards almost had me throwing something at the telly.

Southgates master plan to avoid the big guns in the last sixteen comes easily to fruition.

Re: Today's Games
Pedestrian passing , no urgency going forward.
Ffs did James actually make one forward run or pass in the match, certainly not in the second half. Every time he got the ball in their half he passed it back.
Were we playing Brazil with that game plan?

Re: Today's Games
Just really poor tactically by England, no bravery or belief, repetitive useless short corners. And a slowness that has to be believed in go forward, Fair play. to Scotland they have just kept it in front of them..bang average England side.. totally wasted generation again
Re: Today's Games
Kane has to be dropped just to shake him up. He and Sterling were really poor.

This. Wonderfully talented group of individuals but Southgate. What was he thinking? They were always going to raise their game but should be still beating them. Poor.

kane looked like he'd been smoking the whacky-baccy. he looked shattered after ten minutes of doing precisely nothing.

Re: Today's Games
Got to feel sorry for Kane though, what are we doing to get him scoring opportunities? I don't understand what the game plan is? All our attacking midfielders threaten a run in behind, check, ball comes out and goes sideways. So easy to defend.

Re: Today's Games
I think he said Harry kabe was ansolute nollocks.
I thought luke Shaw was about the best England player. Tried to go forward. Popped up in attacking positions unexpectedly and didn't stand still and expect Scotland to allow the easy forward ball which didn't come.
Otherwise they seemed to have half a team of Willian's. Stopping still to let the defence get back in position.

Souness: “Football ain’t coming home with that team I can tell you, not with the way they’re playing.”
Re: Today's Games
Next game we need to drop Kane and replace him with Calvert Lewin. I keep harping on about Sterling but apart from his pace he’s a bloody awful footballer.

It doesn't matter who you have up front, Kane is one of the best finishers in the world. But in this team he can't do his job.

Re: Today's Games
I actually thought he did well. He's organising, calling , bollocking people for not pulling their weight. One of our better players tonight.
Mount Sterling and Foden did ok too but needed more width with them.
Sadly both full backs were on bungee rope I think. Shaw was better 2nd half but he would have struggled to be worse.
It was like 5 against 11 there there were so many passengers
