Re: Today's Games
Linked with Maehle and Ruslan Malinovski (Ukraine) in a double deal at Genk who both ended up at atalanta I seem to remember. Either would have been a cracking signing in retrospect.

Re: Today's Games
No.
I don't believe Wales have been bigging themselves up based on that excellent victory 5 years ago.
If they have then today's game will bring them back down to earth.

I'm still really pleased we didn't get Wilson, I genuinely don't see the fuss about this lad at all

Re: Today's Games
Davies had a shocker.
Re: Today's Games
Have UEFA changed the rules in that any soft foul from behind is now a red card?
Re: Today's Games
Cant ever remember seeing Davies play that badly.
Hopefully that's the end of this referees competition though, some shocking decisions which should have been overturned.

Re: Today's Games
Whilst I don’t think the rules allow for that to be a red card, I would have no problem with deliberate fouls with no intention of playing the ball to be punished as such. Similar situation to Brady’s red against Huddersfield although he clearly made more contact with the opposition.

Impressed with Ashley Williams in the BBC Studio. Obviously disappointed with the result but very good with his analysis.

Re: Today's Games
no ignorance, Bale doesn't owe anyone an answer to any question, he's not contracted to be there in the first place. Knobhead question imho

Re: Today's Games
At least the interviewer didn't ask Bale how he was feeling..............Bale, as we saw in the huddles/pep talks is an inspirational figure and cares massively about his country and his team mates. To be asked such a crass question after a particularly unpleasant defeat was pretty poor, I thought. I don't blame him for making the interviewer look a ****.

Re: Today's Games
Howler from the ref (re foul on Moore) and then another from Williams was what sealed it for Wales unfortunately when a bright start to the second half could have really changed things for them. (BTW isn't it Williams brother who is in our U23's?)

Re: Today's Games
I’m not sticking up for Bale, but surely this is the complete opposite of “ego”
He’s walked off because “there’s a time and a place to answer questions about me and my career...This is about Wales and how we’ve been knocked out of the Euros.” .
Just my take on it anyway.
Has his wife got nice tits?

I don't mind him showing passion, at least he actually gives a toss, unlike some in the England squad.Winstonswhite wrote: ↑Sat Jun 26, 2021 7:15 pmI sportsman being p!sssd off and gutted he’s been knocked out of a competition. Never!!

Re: Today's Games
Judging by his performances thus far Harry Kane doesn't look interested, and Reece James, Marcus Rashford & Kyle Walker aren't exactly bursting their guts out are they, a bit of passion wouldn't go amiss would it, or are they all too busy counting their millions in the bank to care about representing their country, I've shown more passion in a paper bag then what those 4 have shown during the tournament so far, mind you with the wet blanket GS in charge I can't say it surprises me in the least, he's hardly an inspiring figure is he.

Re: Today's Games
What a load of nonsense. And made more so by the fact that you used the ‘passion’ of the Wales players who put in as gutless a performance as you’re likely to see as a stick to beat the English players with.tiger76 wrote: ↑Sat Jun 26, 2021 8:06 pmJudging by his performances thus far Harry Kane doesn't look interested, and Reece James, Marcus Rashford & Kyle Walker aren't exactly bursting their guts out are they, a bit of passion wouldn't go amiss would it, or are they all too busy counting their millions in the bank to care about representing their country, I've shown more passion in a paper bag then what those 4 have shown during the tournament so far, mind you with the wet blanket GS in charge I can't say it surprises me in the least, he's hardly an inspiring figure is he.
Edit - and made even more comical by you suggesting the England players are counting their wealth whilst praising Bale for having passion. The Gareth Bale.

They are out there desperately trying to win the tournament whilst you are whining and moaning like a little child on a messageboardtiger76 wrote: ↑Sat Jun 26, 2021 8:06 pmJudging by his performances thus far Harry Kane doesn't look interested, and Reece James, Marcus Rashford & Kyle Walker aren't exactly bursting their guts out are they, a bit of passion wouldn't go amiss would it, or are they all too busy counting their millions in the bank to care about representing their country, I've shown more passion in a paper bag then what those 4 have shown during the tournament so far, mind you with the wet blanket GS in charge I can't say it surprises me in the least, he's hardly an inspiring figure is he.

Re: Today's Games
i don't think passion is the problem for the english lads; i think it's more a combination of clueless tactics and an obvious lack of fitness.
kane doesn't lack passion at the moment. what he lacks is legs.

Re: Today's Games
!uck me we’ve conceded zero goals and won the group. You don’t ask for much do you?!
Re: Today's Games
this ref (Italy game) is giving loads of really soft fouls - so soft that they’re not really fouls at all. I wonder if he’ll give a penalty when one of these incidents happens in the penalty area.
There’s also loads of play acting which is really getting on my tits

Re: Today's Games
I don’t get this injury time. Taylor blew for a foul on 44mins and 45 sec, the injury continued and 1 min shows for injury time. The game then restarts on 46mins and 15 sec, on 46 mins and 35 sec Taylor blows for half time. I calculate that half time should have been on 47 mins and 15 secs. Have I got that wrong?

Re: Today's Games
Indeed! it's some tale, and if they can go all the way it'll be some journey, on that display they'll prove a match for anyone left in the competition, that was as complete a 90 minute team display as you'll see, solid at the back, dominant in midfield, and ruthless in their finishing.
