That doesn't even make sense lmao, how did they hit form and need a last minute goal to scrape a draw against Hungary to qualify?
Today's Game

Re: Today's Games
ineffective? is winning games not automatically effective football?Claret wrote: ↑Wed Jun 23, 2021 10:34 pmEngland have been really good in patches - some brilliant attacking play - but have played dreary, ineffective football most of the time. We also have a reasonable defence. It all means we won’t score many but will still stand a fair chance of getting past Germany or any other team. It’ll be close, as always with England
Re: Today's Games
Check your facts, I said this season was a free hit for Dyche, I haven't criticized Dyche for years and I have never criticized the results under Dyche.
As much as I don't like some of the football we play, I have never argued it's not effective.
Re: Today's Games
This is the epitome of rewriting history. I've seen you call people an hypocrite recently
Re: Today's Games
This is a typical agenda against me. I'm surprised you aren't digging out posts from 4 years ago. Go back and look at my posts this previous season, I expected us to get relegated because of MG, I said it was a free hit for Dyche. Not once have I criticized the overall results under Dyche, like never. I have criticised the style of play, mainly 3 years ago though. Sometimes after individual games I will criticize the performance THAT DAY, like most fans. People still harp on about me being negative from posts I made 3+ years ago, mainly trolling for fun. I don't troll anymore.
Re: Today's Games
Ha ha. Yes if it includes a win against Germany on Tuesday

Re: Today's Games
6 goals in 2 games isn't to be scoffed at, and they showed in the Portugal game that at their best they'll be a match for anybody in this competition, however they are erratic as their recent results suggest, so hopefully from England's POV they turn in a shocker at Wembley, and there's definitely a chance for England to create chances against their ageing defence, however England will need to show much more than we have in our group games to progress, I think we can, but we need our big names to turn up on the day, Kane in particular is surely due to break his goal drought.
As you've constantly pointed out Portugal drew all 3 of their group fixtures in 2016, and yet they still went on to lift the trophy, it's all about the 90 minutes or indeed 120 minutes and even the dreaded prospect of a penalty shootout, the positive aspect for that is England have actually won our last 2 penalty contests, so just maybe if it goes down to the wire, which I have a feeling it will, we might not have the trepidation which we normally have on pens.
However comes through this match, I still doubt either will win it, France are still my fav, but the draw is certainly favourable on paper anyway, so there's every chance the victors on Tuesday will reach the final, and once you get there who knows what can transpire. I've been one of Gareth's biggest critics, but he has a golden chance to finally stamp his authority on the England job by beating the Germans, that would finally show he's capable of winning the big games in major tournaments against the better nations. my worry is he'll employ the usual defensive tactics, and that's just inviting trouble as there's no way we'll keep a clean sheet against Germany, our best chance is too go for goals, they've shipped 5 in 3 games, including 2 against Hungary, so they're hardly watertight are they, but we need to impose our style on the game and not allow them to settle and sit off them, that's what Portugal did and they got gubbed.

Hoping for wins for Wales and Italy later. I know Wales can be hyped up horribly but I do prefer their approach to the competition and their fans' behaviour to those of Scotland. The Welsh always seem to have a reasonable grip on reality and are aware of their weaknesses as well as their strengths.
Start of the Tour too....what a day !

Wales have every right to big themselves up, unlike England they've actually beaten a top side in the shape of Belgium when it really mattered, and they did it in style to boot.evensteadiereddie wrote: ↑Sat Jun 26, 2021 11:35 amHoping for wins for Wales and Italy later. Wales-Denmark is a toughie to call for me, I'd give Wales a slight edge due to Bale & Ramsey, but if the Danes hit the form they displayed against Russia they'll be hard to beat, whoever goes through it'll be a great story, either Wales will embark on another journey ala 2016, or Denmark will gain the backing of the neutrals due to them playing for CE.
In the later game I can't see past an easy Italian win, Austria have looked very ordinary when I've seen them, and I can't see where they'll trouble the Italians who have impressed thus far, and crucially have goals in their locker.

Wales 0 Denmark 1 HT.
Poor display from the Welsh, the Danes'll get more if Wales don't play far better.

Denmark all over them. Wales really poor and haven’t got their match winners in Bale and Ramsey into the game.

Was poor defending.
But reckon they should have had a foul given just before.

Re: Today's Games
Looks like Moore (dunno why the comms have to keep calling him by his full name) barged back into the defender then fell over. Not a foul for me. Funnily enough the commentator was saying how good it was that the referee was letting the game flow in the early stages when Moore got away with a physical challenge on a Danish defender.

Re: Today's Games
A definite foul to me, the initial contact from Moore is side on, the contact from the defender isnt and is excessive. Pretty poor by the officials as was the yellow he received in the first half..
Denmark gave played very well though.

There was mention of referees further up the thread. Today’s ref, Denmark v Wales, is Daniel Siebert who referred our game at Aberdeen.
