Re: Today's Games
I was watching the cricket but turned over when I heard there was an issue. It’s horrible to see. He stumbled forward clearly in distress but the reaction of the players from both sides was more than concerning.
We can only hope that he’s going to be ok.

Re: Today's Games
Nothing but good thoughts for him. Watched it live and the immediate reaction of everybody in the vicinity indicated it wasn’t good.
I hope holding the blankets up around him wasn't ominous.

Re: Today's Games
Agreed - it was showing far too much.djemba-djemba wrote: ↑Sat Jun 12, 2021 6:02 pmNo update. Didn’t look good though when it was showing the closeups of him. Not responsive at all.
I don’t know why they didn’t just cut to the studio when it became clear something was seriously wrong.
Praying that he’s OK.
Re: Today's Games
Absolutely shocking to see.
Best wishes Christian Eriksen
Best wishes to Christian Eriksen, that is all.
My prayers and best wishes are with him and his family right now.

Re: Today's Games
It looked like they gave him the defibrillator at one point.
I hope he pulls through, it was horrible to see and even worse when it looked like his wife had been led down to the pitch.

Re: Best wishes Christian Eriksen
At times where we as a society and as a messageboard also have been so divided, this is a reminder that your life and your family are far more important. I’m sure we are all United in wishing him well. Nobody deserves this. Please pull through Christian.
Re: Today's Games
I turned off too no need to show what they did

there is a picture from behind one of the goals showing him being stretchered off, half sitting up rubbing his own head. The image looks 100% legit so fingers crossed

Re: Best wishes Christian Eriksen
Talksport (yes, I know) are reporting that a photo has appeared on Twitter of Eriksen with his hand on his head, but with his eyes open on a stretcher. Let's hope this is the positive news we are all praying for!
Re: Best wishes Christian Eriksen
Brought back horrible memories, and my heart goes out to his family, friends and all those on the pitch.

I've also seen this, I dont want to put it on here, but IF that's genuine, then it's the best news possible!Vegas Claret wrote: ↑Sat Jun 12, 2021 6:19 pmthere is a picture from behind one of the goals showing him being stretchered off, half sitting up rubbing his own head. He's not dead.... Left stadium in stable conditionRichardsbfc wrote: ↑Sat Jun 12, 2021 6:17 pmCoverage is the coverage. So irrelevant at the moment.
Guy has just died in front of our eyes and you’re bothered that the attempt to save his life was on TV for too long.
And if he had died it was even worse to be showing it, imagine if that was your relative, you'd be happy seeing that on tv?

Praying that’s true and well done to all the medical staff if that is indeed the case.fidelcastro wrote: ↑Sat Jun 12, 2021 6:19 pmTalksport (yes, I know) are reporting that a photo has appeared on Twitter of Eriksen with his hand on his head, but with his eyes open on a stretcher. Great news. Holding his own mask.
Re: Today's Games
Thank God. Don't want to speak too soon, but it looks like he's made it.
There aren't any words for the medical staff that have saved him.

Re: Today's Games
The footage was disgusting. Showing a man receiving CPR live on TV is as low as it gets.

Re: Today's Games
I agree with Grumps on this.
As soon as it was confirmed as serious (within 30 seconds) the BBC should have cut back to the studio and offered verbal updates only. Trouble with that though was the studio team were in just as much shock as everyone else and had no idea what to say.
Even the BBC can go to "ad breaks" if they need to, they have ads for the TV shows coming up while they decide what to do. What they did was wrong. You can still watch it on iPlayer too, that also needs pulling as its not right.

There are some reports that he is alive, conscious and has left the stadium to receive further treatment, praying these are true and that he is OK

I just don't think it's a moment to have this conversation, that's all. Some people have a thirst for controversy, whereas most people just want a good outcome.Zlatan wrote: ↑Sat Jun 12, 2021 6:27 pmI agree with Grumps on this.

He’s been stabilised and transferred to hospital. That’s just been reported. So can you accept that please and stop the speculation and pathetic bickering.

Thank god for that. Well done medics. Fantastic job by then.
Re: Today's Games
My wife, the nurse, knew the CPR had gotten him back when she saw his oxygen bag inflated as they went off the field. She also said they'd do chest compressions on someone like Eriksen for 40 minutes before giving up.

Just read somewhere that defibrillators have a 90% success rate if used within 90 seconds of the incident.
What a piece of kit.

All about the speed of response. Muamba was 14 seconds (from memory) from hitting the floor and medical attention (resuscitation) and it was the speed which saved him. Thank goodness, it’s the speed which has saved a life again.Longsidebovril wrote: ↑Sat Jun 12, 2021 6:45 pmJust read somewhere that defibrillators have a 90% success rate if used within 90 seconds of the incident.
