We've seen England slow and boring for 20 years, people still aren't used to it by now

Thought we played some decent stuff in the World Cup with Sterling and Rashford either side of Kane. Much better to watch, and looked very dangerous on the counter. Now we are trying to play like Man City and it is tedious, as it has been for the bulk of the last 20 years.

It's about the time we started to think that the "English style" was hopeless and we should try and pass pass pass instead.

Problem is England dont actually try and play like the clubs in the Prem do. Play more like that and we would possibly get more success. England have lost their identity as a team. Play to your strengths. Scotland did today. They worked hard and played that very "English style" and had they had a decent forward (maybe a Dalglish) they would have won

Southgate is not up to it, and we knew that when he was appointed

Watch back some games from earlier. More like Scotland with a bit better players

The big problem is that the only player finding space in the penalty area (apart from Stones' header) is Sterling. And Sterling, it seems, has completely forgotten what he is supposed to do when he gets into the area. (Yes, I know he is England's top scorer at this tournament, and likely to remain so. But that was when he didn't have time to think about it.)

That must be like being an arsenal fan. They haven't had one for years, so the defenders don't have to worry that somebody will trouble them with a cross into the box. They'll just keep passing the ball sideways and backwards round in a horseshoe shape boring the **** out of you hoping that they can get it to the edge of the box and then strategically fall over. Similar to Spain.
