you throw the game against the Czechs not against Scotland - after that performance England will be under pressure to win. Win today, make a load of changes and nobody will care
Who cares anyway? You do know Portugal drew all 3 group games and won the tournament the last time, right? the knockout round they won against shitty Poland on penalties. beat Croatia deep in extra time. They won 1 time in 90 minutes in the entire tournament and that was against Wales.

yes well aware. Doesn't explain why Grealish was stuck on the wing, why Foden was taken off and Mount left on to mis-deliver every single set piece he took.

Dress it up how you want, I don't expect England to play well but I do expect a manager to not make basic errors in tactics. He's just a crap manager

Proper FA yes man

I've probably bored you all with SouthgateOut since the day he got the job but taking off Foden and then marooning Grealish out on the wing should show anyone with an ounce of faith left in him that he can't do the job - that's not someone out of their depth that's just someone who doesn't have a clue and didn't watch the game.

No point keeping him. His job is to win this tournament, he can’t beat Scotland. Get rid and get someone else in for the rest of it
I said the same before the tournament began. The only saving grace was not losing to the Jocks.

Absolutely shambolic!

You should put that England shirt on and feel the most pride you’d could ever imagine as a footballer, and especially in that game! England vs Scotland , a gigantic derby game! I’m not saying this is this reason but perhaps a contributing factor…the youth of today or at least for the age that the majority of these players are at, don’t get the passion that foregone generations have, it’s not in their DNA. And that’s sad for me to say, I’m an extremely passionate person, and today I watched an England team play where very few players wanted that win, whereas the Scotland players absolutely didn’t want to lose, and for me if they had shown a tad more belief , they would have won that game , and quite comfortably.

Hundreds of thousands of pounds a week paid to these players and when the time comes to show some commitment they can’t muster it. I’m flabbergasted by that lack lustre performance .

Having said that I thought Billy Gilmour was brilliant

Rashford is a CF but plays out on the wing. Given the fact we got nothing out of the full backs of Scotland all game we clearly needed someone (who wins loads of free-kicks) driving at them from the center of the pitch.

Did you watch the friendlies where Grealish was given a free role and he drove through the middle ? Guessing not

What has happened to Harry Kane, he's nearly as slow as me! Still gets the shirt and the armband.
TBF, I'm not blaming him, the manager should see there's something wrong.

Different role than at Spurs. He’ll be staying there too after these Euros. He’s made the habit of dropping off over the past couple of years and England nor Manchester City or any other too side will be wanting that.

Is he coming back from injury?
So slow. Wouldn't matter what he did tactically, he looked like a carthorse tonight.

I agree .no point keeping someone who plays such defensive football.when England's strengths are in the attacking players

And the next game he'll play five at the back four holding midfield players..and Harry Kane

Germany: Joachim low- won a World Cup
France: Didier Deschamps- won a World Cup European cup
Spain: Luis Enrique- won a champions league
Italy: Roberto Mancini- won Seria A and Premier league
England: Gareth Southgate- used to manage Middlesborough and used to wear a waistcoat.

You are complaining he played a wide player, out wide. Very much an agenda, very quick to jump on here and criticize after job done in the group stage. Peak late not early is my new motto for this tournament. I wonder if the Portugal fans were whining about their manager playing Bernardo Silva out wide when they won the Euros without winning a group game. Job done, feet up and look forward to the knockout rounds, gradually go through the gears and build momentum.

Southgate is the most successful manager since I was born, keep crying and we might sack him and bring in the mighty Capello.

pretty difficult to do it on your own. Today we had a CF that did a superb impression of a planted tree and an entire midfield that just wanted to pass sideways and backwards. He's sensational for City because they bother attacking

I'm relaxed with my expectation of England, after years of underperformance. I think we can do well, we certainly aren't the best squad at this tournament but with a bit of luck and a favorable draw, we might be able to over achieve for once. The negativity is from people who never wanted Southgate, they are waiting for him to fail. I think i'll wait a little longer though, after qualifying for the group stages isn't exactly the greatest time to be crying Southgate out, even if it was a boring 0-0 draw. I look at Portugal drawing 3/3 group games and winning the whole thing, the negativity is certainly premature.

The negativity is based on him clearly not being deserving of the job and not being tactically good enough for the job. I also have low expectations, doesn't mean I don't want them to do well. It just won't happen with Southgate that's all

Foden faced the same issue McNeil faces, the only threat is far easier to nullify. Which is why Mount should have gone off and Grealish should have come on at half time

knock it around the box for a while until the real talents Aguerro, Lacazette, Silva et al, actually finish the move.

deserving of the job? probably not but who cares? there's better things to judge him on, like results while in the job.
tactically not good enough? I mean if you say so, the results don't agree with you though. Final of the nations league, should've won it. Breezed through qualifying (something we'd previously struggled at) and semi final of a WC.
As for doing well, I'd suggest the results have been great under Southgate.

It's a results business these days, as much as I want to see mind blowing fast paced football (same with Burnley), I simply cannot argue against Dyche's results because I'd look an idiot.

Precisely.
And we produce lots of very good "functional" players, but fewer matchwinners.

i doubt krbfc is actually an advocate of southgate.

he's just one of those weird types who thrives on being a bellend on the internet.

he's probably normal in the real world; or at least portrays a veneer of normality.

southgate is a rabbit in the headlights and everybody knows it krbfc - even you.

I don't agree with that unless one of Rice or Phillips should have been hooked for another forward as well to change the formation.

Southgate is never going to play without 2 holding midfielders, I mean he wasn't brave enough to do it at home to Scotland - I dread to think what formation he would play against someone like France

Pickford
Chilwell Stones Maguire Mings Walker Trippier
Henderson Rice Philips
Kane

i doubt krbfc is actually an advocate of southgate.

he's just one of those weird types who thrives on being a bellend on the internet.

he's probably normal in the real world; or at least portrays a veneer of normality.

southgate is a rabbit in the headlights and everybody knows it krbfc - even you.
I'm not sure how halting the mass panic and negativity makes me a bellend, we were crap to watch there's no doubt but upon reflection it's job done and I'll wait for the rest of the tournament to play out before casting judgement.

Stones's header goes in and everyone would be blowing smoke up Gareth's arse...as someone often says: "fine margins"

Why does he drop deep? His job is to score goals which he is fantastic at.
No idea why.

We're still p1ssing about around the box with no one in it.

I'd have stuck Calvert Lewin on with Kane and got balls in t' box.

We're so boring it's untrue.

A 0-0 against Scotland isn't the end of the world (in this competition or otherwise), but the manner of it makes you wonder.

He is paid bucket loads, his remit is to win a major tournament. I'd love it for you to come on here in a few weeks and rub a tournament win in all our faces but I just don't see it remotely possible with Southgate

Exactly, with the players at his disposal he should be getting more of a tune out of them but I think you’ve also got to make allowances in this instance & credit Scotland who played very well & took the game to us just as much as we did to them, overall it’s not that damaging it wasn’t a defeat.

Win a major tournament? I genuinely don’t think England will win a major tournament in my lifetime. Some expectations them, no wonder you’re so disappointed with a draw in the group stages than secure our qualification into the knockout round.

Grealish shouldn’t have come on at all. He did sod all but fall over about seven or eight times. His movement off the ball was non existent. I failed to understand why a great cheer went up when he came on and Foden went off. But then the cheer came from ENGLISH football fans who, as we all know, are as thick as ****.
