Jarred Gillett sounds like an unfortunate coat accident.

It's no surprise - he's moved up very quickly and has been Select Group 2 for his two full seasons and was doing a lot of VAR last season.

Can anyone confirm the height of these referees? I’ll use that as my initial assessment.

I’ve a theory that short referees make jumped up little so and so’s who make the game more about them than the actual football.

I think Harrington's a short arse and he fits into your theory. :D

Much as I admire your theory I think Lee Mason's 'vital statistics' may blow it out of the water. I used to have a similarly flawed theory about us recruiting players with short surnames being good for us; Mee Ings ,Vokes,Gray, Duff etc Six letters maximum. Good while it lasted. ;)

Love the comment on Mason :D :D :D

My dad had a theory on players who were vertically challenged - suffice to say he wasn't a fan of Ingham or Flynn but, against all his principles, he would have always had Brian O'Neil in his team.

If ever there was going to be an exception to your dad's rule I think the 'Bedlington Terrier' surely fills it.
Your dad's theory reminds me of one my own dad had and that concerned the team going to Blackpool for training prior to a big match. Happened a lot when I was young and he always used to say (so many times that I started to believe it) that all that fresh air on the coast used to make the team tired or sluggish on the pitch.
