“They’d be up as quick as possible then” it’s a good suggestion I don’t even think they’d go down in the first place to start with knowing that a 5 min wait to get back on would be in the offing.boatshed bill wrote: ↑Sat Jul 03, 2021 7:55 pmCount how many go down faking head injuries to get play stopped.
I'd bring in a rule that if a player stays down after contact he has to go off for 5 minutes...they'd be up as quick as possible then.

So in other words, he still cheats.taio wrote: ↑Sun Jul 04, 2021 8:45 amBarnes does go down too easily at times when challenging in the air, with his back to goal and lots of distance from the goal, but it's following contact and is in no way comparable to some of the diving that goes on without any contact, especially in or around the box. This is well illustrated by your link.

As a 10 year old (30 odd years ago) I vividly remember being told by a referee I’d have had a penalty if I’d gone down. Still true today, That’s why they do it... I’d been brought up on dog **** filled school fields and glass filled concrete pitches and had learned how to ride almost ever foul. Grealish wouldn’t have liked it

Mind you, it was the 80s. Maybe the ref was Savilles mate and meant something else?

Technically yes, but in a way that’s acceptable to taio

Cheating is cheating, can't condemn other players for it if you also don't condemn your own.
To stop it, it needs to stop completely. There's never going to be a rule written that will work to stop cheating that lets only certain cheating be, whilst other cheating is banned.
Has to be stopped period.
