Re: Alan Pace tweet
The articles that immediately follow are possibly more interesting for those who live in Burnley
Re: Alan Pace tweet
You're right Chester, really interesting transformative stuff for the town.
Best bit was a major facelift planned for the James Hargreaves to make it a conferencing and hospitality centre, as well as planned improvements to Yorkshire Street, some of this, is of course dependent on the government following through on its levelling up agenda and providing the town with the funds but it sounds like Jenrick is optimistic that Burnley can benefit from this.

Re: Alan Pace tweet
Just to add this stacks up with what Ben Wickes was talking about pre takeover.
Re: Alan Pace tweet
Catching up on posts I missed. I'm just reporting what I was told. Also the unpopular background staff departures I was told of and reported on here (can't remember the thread) many months ago. I'm just passing on what I am allowed to to be fair. Some stuff I've been told to keep under my hat. The surprise signings haven't fully happened yet but signing Collins so early and almost getting Ashley Young through the door shows the intent is there.
I'm not going to repeat myself on the 'Where's Ben Wickes' thread. I've got too much work on.

Re: Alan Pace tweet
I wouldn't write Armstrong off that quickly if Saints have backed out then. I saw Saints had bid £8m for him, clearly he's worth more than that, young English striker with 45+ goals in the last 2 seasons. I saw that Basturds wanted closer to double that. £16m, we could probably knock them down to £14m, £12m+ add ons maybe? I don't hold out much hope we'll improve the 11, just trying to try and be optimistic.minnieclaret wrote: ↑Tue Aug 03, 2021 4:46 pmPalarse after Nelson and Saints want Armstrong but not willing to pay silly money.
Forget them both.

Re: Alan Pace tweet
Read an article t’other day saying a lot of skint EFL clubs are asking top dollar currently but as the transfer deadline draws near they will drop dramatically. Could be plenty of talent coming into our shopping area.KRBFC wrote: ↑Tue Aug 03, 2021 7:05 pmI wouldn't write Armstrong off that quickly if Saints have backed out then. Re: Alan Pace tweet
Yes that's my hope, that when we approach the final days of the window, clubs will suddenly realise their not going to get what they expected, and prices MIGHT become more realistic for us, of course that applies to our rivals as well, so it won't automatically mean we'll be able to snap up the promising Championship talent, but it may give us a better chance fingers crossed.minnieclaret wrote: ↑Tue Aug 03, 2021 7:21 pmRead an article t’other day saying a lot of skint EFL clubs are asking top dollar currently but as the transfer deadline draws near they will drop dramatically. Re: Alan Pace tweet
When Alan Pace became chairman I believe he took to Twitter quite often ( I'm not on Twitter) to speak to the fans. Does he still do it ?

Re: Alan Pace tweet
Not as much now, but when he does it’s mostly retweeting the official club tweets with “pleased to welcome on board “insert new sponsor here”
Re: Alan Pace tweet
I’m not sure he’d post as much when all he gets are replies from Muppets having a pop.

You don't have to "be on Twitter" to view it, it's just a website.

Re: Alan Pace tweet
The club gave somebody an automated refund on the Notts Forest match the other day.
Somebody saw fit to complain and say they should have put it towards the transfer budget. Imagine what they would have tweeted if the club hadn't refunded them??
