Another successful day for Team GB, up to 13 medals - four gold, five silver and four bronze.

I've just noticed the quartet of gymnasts includes twins Jennifer and Jessica Gadirova, I can see the marketing execs falling over themselves to get them signed up to promote products, and why not it worked for the Brownlee brothers.

Horse Dancing bronze

Great thing about the olympics that you get a glimpse of all sports whether it’s your cup of tea or not. Not sure how dressage is many people’s cup of tea to be honest. That said, surely you get a medal when you have the best trained horse. Incredible how you get horses to do stuff like that.

Sometimes I'll watch the dressage, I haven't bothered this time, but the horses are incredible I must agree. And it must take many hours of work to get horse and rider to the levels that they produce.

The gymnasts are indeed amazing. As for the rest of today’s stuff I really enjoyed the rugby 7s. Can’t see anyone beating Fiji though.

Dina Asher-Smith must be a strong contender for gold in the women's 100m given the great run of form she's been in over the past year.

I guess it'll come down to her and Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce.

As for the men's race it's the most open sprint in ages, no Usain Bolt (retired) or Christian Coleman (banned).

Another Gold to wake up to from the Men's 4x200m freestyle relay who absolutely smashed the field, unfortunately just missing the world record by a couple of seconds. Tom Dean with another gold to add to his individual one the other day.

Where rowing could be relied upon to produce a gold or two for team GB it now looks like we could have to wait for another one.

Rugby 7s.
I’ve watched a lot of 7s over the years and that was as poor a performance as I’ve seen from an England or GB team.
Well played Argies.

I'm surprised that countries such as France and Germany have been struggling when you hear about the talent in their ranks at U23 level, unless it's not as good as its made out to be.

As the host nation who have already bagged 13 Golds, I am sure that they will be well up for this and that Chris will be jetting home shortly.

Brief round up of all the British interest herehttps://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/olympics/57952275

Karriss Artingstall guaranteed a medal after reaching the semi-finals of the boxing, and a couple more medal prospects in the ring also.

And the female hockey team mounting a stern defence of their crown with another pool victory.

Chance of further medals in the rowing tomorrow after plenty of Brits made their respective finals.

Emma Wilson is a new name to me, but she currently leads in her sailing event, despite being disqualified from one of her races, and the men are also performing strongly in this event, so high hopes of more medals on the water.

Giles Scott firmly on course to retain his Finn class title, 4 race wins in a row for the Brit.

Duncan Scott into the 200m individual medley final, he'll be hoping to medal, and probably gold after his near miss to teammate Tom Dean a couple of days ago.

A couple of agonising near misses in the rowing.

A last gasp win for GB women in the rugby, but NZ loom large in their next pool game.

2 riders through to the BMX semi-finals.

And a 1st gold for Ireland in the rowing.

Women's gymnastic all-around final at about midday UK time, can the ladies follow up their bronze from the other day.

Another medal guaranteed for GB, the question is what colour will it be. :)

Britain's Emma Wilson has guaranteed at least a bronze medal in windsurfing.

The 22-year-old, who is the daughter of former Olympic windsurfer Penny Way, has won four of her 12 races this week to place her second overall heading into Saturday's points race.

Wilson's 34 points puts her out of reach of fourth place and firmly in contention for a gold medal.

She is four points behind Chinese sailor Lu Yunxiu.

Crikey! that was some GB medal haul overnight.

6 in total, gold and silver in the BMX racing, silver in the swimming, and bronzes in the rowing, swimming and trampolining.

Takes GB up to 24, but that total will rise soon.

Less cheerful news in the footy, 1-0 to Australia at the the break in the qf match.

A big shock on the cards in the tennis, Djokovic 2 breaks down in the deciding set, and heading for defeat.

The only downside so far in the Olympics is that you have to go back to 1980 apparently for the last time team GB failed to win a gold in the rowing. A bit of fallout from that no doubt.

A quickfire brace from the prolific Ellen White ensures GB now leas the Aussies 2-1 in the footy, what a goal scorer she is on the biggest stages.

GB women also through to the last 4 of the sevens, let's hope they can go at least on better than the guys and claim a medal.

It appears that one of this current crop of (losing) GB rowers is laying the blame for their downturn in results squarely at the door Jurgen Gruber, he being the ex/retired head coach that ran things for our previous (winning) rowing teams; apparently he was cruel/harsh, didn't pick/support them and worked them too hard when he did. Am I the only one who sees a slight correlation between working insanely hard and winning?

GB have been so dominant in the rowing it was bound to come to an end eventually, the promising aspect is we've got many younger rowers emerging, and we also had several 4th placed finishes, so I'm not unduly concerned about our future in this event, you can't keep reeling off the golds constantly, and as long as we're building for the future that's fine in my view.

£50m+ in funding for rowing.

The lass who win the BMX gold medal had to crowdfund to get to the games because funding for her event was cut.

Let's see if rowing is allowed a 'transition' games.

Blimey! I didn't realise rowing got that much cash, and yes if the powers that be are true to their word and funding is warded on merit for each sport, then we could well see a redistribution in the grants.

Certainly BMX should have a case for more funding after that success.

A strong start from GB in the Mixed relay triathlon, and we should certainly be looking at a medal of some sort.

And with the likes of Dina Asher-Smith & Adam Peaty also in action later I sense another successful day looming for Team GB.

Mixed relay triathlon should and hopefully will be gold.

Fingers crossed but Asher-Smith could be up against it given the strength of the competition.

Mixed relay triathlon should and hopefully will be gold.

Fingers crossed but Asher-Smith could be up against it given the strength of the competition.
A great leg from Jonny Brownlee has put us in prime position for gold, but we're still only just over halfway through, so lots could yet change.

However Alex Yee SHOULD see us home in the final leg if all goes to form.

It'd be a great way to start the day by picking up a gold.
