Not for me, there's something about the sleeves that doesn't sit right.
I'll buy it anyway, and hope it grows on me. I'm surprised that most people sound positive about it.

I really like it, best shirt in a long while. Shame about the shorts/socks though.
Re: Home kit unveiled
Very nice kit. Looks neat and clean-cut. Similar vibes to the 2017/18 kit with the shirt pattern and blue shorts.
Thumbs up from me.

Just hope it is better quality than last seasons ha to throw my sons away after he had worn it twice luckily I bought it in the sale. Really like the look of this though

I like the sleeves. Reminds me of the Ribero 'bird shite' top.

Best home kit in years. Amazing how much a clean sponsor like this helps as opposed to Chinese characters and that ridiculous giant poker chip we had at one point.

I'm surprised it's going down so well.
At least there's no red in the advert.

Fantastic kit. Kept nice and simple in the main as you would expect, but a lovely retro touch to the sleeves which is as daring as our kits have been for a long time. I also prefer white shorts and socks but think that in this instance the blue possibly works better.

I don’t like it. Last year’s was much better. And the logo on the front sounds extremely rude.

Re: Home kit unveiled
The kit will have been agreed and some delivered months ago. The sponsor was recent so I guess has been superimposed.WiscoClaret wrote: ↑Wed Jul 21, 2021 1:20 pmI think it’s a really nice kit overall!
They’ve been sitting on these for awhile. Vyds, Woody, and McNeil without his right arm tattooed all give it away. The folks saying the shirt had been done for awhile were right!

I like the shirt, not sold on the shorts and socks. I wish we'd return to the old badge
Re: Home kit unveiled
The sleeves remind me of this 1988 away kit.
No prices mentioned on the website article. In comparison to other Umbro clubs, ours have been much cheaper so a possible price increase could be on the way.

That's what I thought. Neat shirt, reminded me of the late 80's, early 90's in some ways but thought the exact same thing. Hope we don't play like thatNottsClaret wrote: ↑Wed Jul 21, 2021 12:22 pmBest kit since 2009. Like an amalgamation of kits from 85-92. Hopefully we don’t play like that.

Don't mind the blue shorts and socks.
Sleeves are horrific. Young lad likes them though, which is the main thing.

If it was being sold at M and S it would be on the “fitted”rather than “regular” rail, I will end up buying an xxl size !! I like it though.

Re: Home kit unveiled
By the time the Premier League badge and sponsor has gone on the sleeves you probably won’t see much of them anyway.

Really like this. Has a look of the 1980s POCO?? Shirt but with a modern twist with the sleeves.
I also like the badge on the back of the collar. Nice touch.
Might be the first shirt I end up buying after a few years of not bothering.

Re: Home kit unveiled
I'd heard that BFC in the circle was going on the back of one shirt. Maybe they have been using samples and it won't be on the actual home shirt.
A club tweet then being removed is becoming quite common.

Would be nice if someone could invent a material that doesn't pull as soon as you come into contact with anything rough.

Re: Home kit unveiled
Also surprised at the positive comments. I think it looks like a right dog’s breakfast. The sleeves are a wishy washy mess , don’t chime at all well with the claret.
The socks and shorts look like whites that have gone through the coloured wash cycle.
It’s a big thumbs down from me.

It still mentions a ‘bespoke back neck sign off’ on the club website (who writes this stuff?)ClaretTony wrote: ↑Wed Jul 21, 2021 3:01 pmI'd heard that BFC in the circle was going on the back of one shirt. Maybe they have been using samples and it won't be on the actual home shirt.

I’m in agreement with you chekhov. Arms look like they’ve been cut from a thirty year old bedspread. Too much going on down the left with the logo and crest making it out of balance. Awful.

Re: Home kit unveiled
The club bring out a home kit with a shirt that is claret, blue and white (the club's colours!) and people moan it is too different/jazzy/horrible. I will use my white shorts from last season at walking football training sessions with this shirt. I like it, clean looking but distinctive at the same time.

Re: Home kit unveiled
It’s the sort of shirt that Poundland would design - tacky sleeves, wrong colours for the shirt and shorts but at least the logo isn’t too large - even though it sounds like a crappy butter substitute.
Re: Home kit unveiled
Like it, thank goodness there are no Chinese symbols on it which I never liked and detracted from the badge etc IMHO. Sleeves ok and I'm sure they'll grow on me when I see it in real life.
I'll be buying one.
One comment do a shirt for us beer belly Clarets with spread around the waste, preceded by "middle aged"

Re: Home kit unveiled
Agree with this. I do like it, but if I had one small moan it would be with the sleeves. Looks a bit…generic.Colburn_Claret wrote: ↑Wed Jul 21, 2021 1:21 pmNot for me, there's something about the sleeves that doesn't sit right.

Re: Home kit unveiled
Plain blue sleeves would have made it a class top.
Re: Home kit unveiled
Overall I like it, the sponsor logo spread, like amy have said is not ideal for me, would have preferred plain but maybe it will appeal to the younger ones, just maybe. I like the shorts and socks, so overall a vast improvement from previous for quite awhile.
Does anyone know who has the final approval of the new kits every season, single person, committee? Whomever, well done.

Was always the chairman so, given they are approved a significant time ahead, it will probably have been given the final approval by Garlick.

Re: Home kit unveiled
Sorry not for me
I buy one every year to wear on the turf but I will be giving this one a miss. The sleeves look horrible 1980’s
It doesn’t have a wow factor
Any logo in the weave ? No collar it just looks like a training too

Re: Home kit unveiled
interesting how people are saying the sleeves are pretty retro 1980's - if you look at a lot of "pop" music these days it's very much that, add to that the whole tik-tok thing with the women's team I can see a pattern emerging
Re: Home kit unveiled
Could have been worse - I’m not overly enamoured with the sleeves, though I can see why they’ve tried something a little different and it does nod to the old Ribero shirt.
Why we’ve gone with blue shorts and socks, I don’t know.
The home shorts being white should be a given.
The home socks should be either white with claret and blue trim or ideally, claret and blue hoops, which I’d happily have every year. They’re not that common and it could be a bit of an easy identifier to the foreign fan if we were known to always wear hooped socks).

Re: Home kit unveiled
Not a Fan of blue shorts. It means there is more blue then claret. We are not the Blues, we are the clarets, and I prefer it when the percentage of claret is higher on the whole kit then any other colour. Ruins an OK kit for me. White shorts would have 100% been the way to go.

Its a yes from me
