Saw this one yesterday on Instagram. Might be a sore one to look at from Burnley fans of the 80s, but our efforts against wolves aside in the 80s what a shirt this is.
I am sure Umbro could re release modern twists kits like this and sales would go through the roof.
Has to be one of the nicest shirts I’ve seen. Imagine that in claret and blue.

I think our away shirt in 1983/84 was very similar design to this in white with a sky blue stripe. Or am I imagining it? If so, it would have been Spall.

Yes white with baby blue pinstripe, baby blue shorts and socks. Looked awful in pictures but looked much better “in the flesh”.

Yes 82/83 claret trim sky pinstripes as worn at Wolves funnily enough - now any fans of this one might be happy in a few weeks time

Was it 82/83? I had it in my head that the first time I saw it was in the Isle of Man when we played in the tournament there in summer 1983. I'm only a year out though.

Dreadful that day at Barnsley. Strange how you remember unconnected things but we stopped at a pub on the way and we were told by the landlady that we had to keep quiet because she was watching Princess Grace’s funeral on tv.
The performance that day was so bad we might have better off staying in the pub to watch the funeral.

Mine too - I've not bought a shirt for years but I do have half a dozen player worn shirts from recent seasons

https://www.footballkitarchive.com/burnley-kits/#1970 I have absolutely no recollection of ever having seen the 2019-20 blue away kit let alone seeing us play in it. Did it ever get used?

Nike did a lot of really nice shirts last year. With the old tick logo. Can’t be arsed searching but one of Arsenals is really nice.
I’m a big fan of football shirts in the “normal” t shirt kinda fit. Proper sleeves, round collar, normal fit.

Well i have never had any ill feeling towards Wolves, liked it there when i have been and met some decent fans, and whilst i quite like their kit colours, i can't ever remember one that could be described as `incredible`. Certainly not this one... their record against us during that time was certainly incredible tho. Always seemed to get a spanking off 'em.

Total mind block. I honestly couldn't remember. Mind you, I have poured cold water from the kettle onto instant coffee twice today and found the clothes pegs basket in the fridge (although I did tell Mrs EAC that it doesn't necessarily mean that I was the one that put them there!
)

Talking of classic football shirts. Buy every Premier League clubs shirts, home and away. Every size. DO NOT OPEN. Sell them on in 10/15 years.
I did the same with vinyl a few years back. Albums that came out around 2005/2010 sold for 5/6/7x what I initially paid for them.

That’s good advice. If only I had a spare £3000 so I could buy even one of each

Haha, I suppose, didn’t think about the price. But seriously, we’re in the “chick away” era. Things 5/10/15 years old in mint condition fetch serious money nowadays.

Arsenal's 2019/20 was a lovely shirt imo. I've always liked the Adidas 3 stripes on a shirt.

They could, but they’d have to negotiate with the football club, who have a contract with the existing shirt manufacturer and sponsor.
6/10 would but they retro shirt making contracts meaningless and impacting the revenues of the club and sponsor.

I still have the white shirt shown earlier in the thread but mine has spall on the left side and BFC on the right.

Still got mine too. Another bad day for this shirt was the 2-0 defeat at Cambridge Utd which was the first match in our disastrous Easter 83 run that ultimately cost us our Div2 place. I think Andy Sinton, just turned 17, got both the goals for Cambridge, one an absolute stunner. Rancid performance from us after having just beaten Newcastle and Fulham
