The franchise at Milton Keynes aren't happy
They've just issued the following statement:
"MK Dons can confirm that an official approach has been made by Swansea City to speak to Russell Martin regarding their vacant managerial position.
"To our extreme disappointment, this was received less than 24 hours prior to our first competitive fixture of the season. To minimise disruption to our players and our match preparation, it was decided that this would be discussed after today’s game.
"It was not our attention to release a statement until after discussions had taken place but given the intense media speculation, we felt it necessary to confirm the situation to both our players this morning and to our supporters before the game.
"The club will make no further comment at this time while we focus on this afternoon’s fixture."

They’ll struggle with only two players!

‘Intention’ probably.

The bare faced cheek of franchise criticising how another club conduct their business is breath taking, repulsive club and a still a shameful episode in English football.

They'll be even less happy now, 1-0 down at Bournemouth, Brooks has just netted.
A strong starting line-up for the Cherries, Stanislas on the bench.

Do they not have to allow Swansea to hold talks with Martin? I always thought the compensation package was agreed first.

They've more to worry about now. They are about to become the first club knocked out of this season's League Cup. Into stoppage time at Bournemouth and they are 5-0 down.

No shame in getting knocked out of the cup by Bournemouth

From what I've heard about MK Dons under Russell Martin, you can certainly see why Swansea are attracted to him. He fits their idea of how their team should play.

Bugger the Franchise lot.
I'm not happy.
My Scottish side just blew a 4-0 lead at home with less than 30 mins to go.

My thoughts exactly... Overspill area of Greater London. Youngsters there have a Football team to Support...not healthy having grudges especially if it doesn't affect you... as for the perceived Love in.... they were I recall a team of Thugs that no one Liked anyway.

Old school fans have had a great journey with AFC Wimbledon so in the end it worked out for the best and everyones happy (apart from a few posters on a Burnley messageboard)

The truth is the idea didn’t catch on. Nobody else did it. It was a failed experiment. No-one but a few diehards care, so as I said. Get over itLocal cricketer wrote: ↑Sat Jul 31, 2021 7:06 pmImagine still be triggered by something that happened 20 years ago

Yes what on earth happened in Kirkcaldy today, that game should have been dead and buried, and then John McGlynn decided to rest a couple of players, and the whole complexion of the match changed. I've seen some bizarre turnarounds in my time, but you shouldn't be blowing a 4 -0 lead at home with 20 minutes to go, even to a newly relegated side.Buxtonclaret wrote: ↑Sat Jul 31, 2021 5:25 pmBugger the Franchise lot.

My Scottish team, Partick Thistle edged a 5 goal thriller with QOS today, and at some stage later in the season, me and my old man are hoping to finally set foot inside Firhill again all being well.

Won 4-0 today which is a good start to life in the Highland league, but it will be tough as many of the sides at these levels have been attracting increasing investment in recent years.

I’m sure they’re happy enough. Great stadium. In a good spot. With huge potential. In a fantastic city.
