If Real Madrid offered 300 million Levy would accept and force Kane out of the club. I don't blame Kane at all given he was told he could leave.

Re: Where's Harry Kane
well someone does want to buy him for a ridiculous amount of money. People saying he should act professionally are forgetting that Levy apparently gave him his word he could go but is now back tracking. If someone offered you a chance to work for a bigger more successful company whilst doubling your salary you'd be happy to do what your current "boss" decides ? I wouldn't, your only here once.claretonthecoast1882 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 02, 2021 3:45 pmPeople keep saying this but does he not need someone to buy him or does he just leave for free and see if anyone will take him on later ?

If Kane hasn't got a clause agreeing to move to anywhere for x price and didn't want to move to Madrid, Levy couldn't do anything about it.Vegas Claret wrote: ↑Mon Aug 02, 2021 3:43 pmIf Real Madrid offered 300 million Levy would accept and force Kane out of the club. If Levy said "if City bid 150 million you can go" then fair enough - but Spurs have issued multiple statements saying he won't be going anywhere - two very different things and that's what has clearly triggered Kaneclaretonthecoast1882 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 02, 2021 3:51 pmThen City should bid the amount that Spurs agreed to sell him for in this agreement

I agree we are only here once. I tried working for someone when I was 16 after about 3 years I gave it up and haven't done it since The idea of working all week to line someone elses pocket is a bit weird.

So there is a gentlemans agreement in place and you are saying Daniel Levy of all people hasn't put a fixed price on this he just said you can go ? We should offer 10m quick then just sell him on

that's not seemingly how football works though is it, so many stories over the years of players being forced out of their clubs. Kane's mistake was signing the long term deal at Spurs and trusting a word Levy says

Re: Where's Harry Kane
it's been widely reported ever since Nuno was appointed.
Either way, ask yourself this. Given the fact Kane's behavior is usually exemplary do you think he wouldn't turn up for training just on a whim ? I'm sure he understands how the transfer market works, I'm sure he knows if a certain level of bid was put in he would be allowed to go and that would have been relayed back to City. So what has triggered him to not turn up for training ? I would suggest it's happened because Levy is taking the ****

Re: Where's Harry Kane
The only talk of a bid I have seen was a ****** kane telling people at his brothers wedding he is going to City. There has been talk since before the euros of them and Utd going to make a bid but I haven't seen anything that a bid has been made. City seem more focused on the signing of Grealish at the moment.Vegas Claret wrote: ↑Mon Aug 02, 2021 4:14 pmit's been widely reported ever since Nuno was appointed.

I have no doubt that Kane is ****** off, but until someone either makes a bid that is in this agreement (of which there will be one if this is true) or makes a bid that meets Spurs value then he will be staying. There is not a chance that this agreement is a verbal one as nobody would take Levy at his word and certainly not kane's agent. Kane therefore needs to show some proof of this, he could also put in a transfer request which he seems to have failed to do so far. Be told you will be allowed to move on doesn't mean he can set his own asking price

I imagine 99.9% of the world would, but this agreement will be in writing with a set fee (150m was very popular pre euros) City just need to offer this amount.

Amazing that City could end up signing both Grealish and Kane without falling foul of FFP rules. Potentially £250m+ on signing 2 players.

Re: Where's Harry Kane
If Levy came out and said we will sell him if our valuation is met then that's different, but he hasn't. I just don't think for one second that Kane would do what he's done if the fee not being met was the issue.claretonthecoast1882 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 02, 2021 4:29 pmI imagine 99.9% of the world would, but this agreement will be in writing with a set fee (150m was very popular pre euros) City just need to offer this amount.

Re: Where's Harry Kane
I've no idea what's going on.
Kane is being uncharacteristically unprofessional, but who knows what he has been promised, what's been agreed or whether all this is with Spurs' agreement? Grealish seems to be handling things much better... or is he planning to reject City? Imagine if they sign Grealish and then Kane's stuck at Spurs because City back away? Either way, I can't remember a pre-season with so many clubs in turmoil.
Villa, despite their signings, will not benefit from all this ongoing uncertainty whether he stays or goes. Ditto Spurs re Kane and it looks like both may drag out close to/in to the early season. Wolves rumoured to need to sell having parted with their manager. Everton have all the Benitez hate. Toon fans in uproar about Bruce and lack of signings. Palace's pre-season has picked up a bit to be fair, but they have a tough start and that could turn sour quickly.
If we got our act together and made a few signings in the next week we might be nicely placed for the start of the season. There's an opportunity I hope we don't squander!

Re: Where's Harry Kane
Is Grealish better value at £100m than Kane at £150m? Though both astronomical figures, after the Euros I’d probably say he is.
Maybe City just don’t want to pay that much anymore and the verbal agreement between Kane & Levy was he could go for no less than £150m.

Re: Where's Harry Kane
Sterling is stalling on a new contract, so it's possible he might be one departing, given that Pep often plays only 1 up top, and sometimes doesn't even deploy a natural number 9, then I can't see how he could possibly keep both Kane & Sterling happy, at this stage in their careers, having both enjoyed a successful EC, there's no chance they'll want to be warming the bench, so I can see City trying to ship Sterling out if they can in this window, as this is probably when he's at his maximum value in the market for them.kentonclaret wrote: ↑Mon Aug 02, 2021 4:35 pmAmazing that City could end up signing both Grealish and Kane without falling foul of FFP rules. Or they could simply just continue buying up all the talent, and to hell with the FFP rules, they are only for the little people after all.
