Shame Joe has had to move to the swamp
Re: ARTICLE: Hart moves to Celtic
He’ll do well there and should be the number 1. Another player that people love to hate. Good luck to him.
Re: ARTICLE: Hart moves to Celtic
Good luck to him. Never as good once Guardiola publicly questioned his ability.

Bit strange really. Not only to do that to a stalwart such as him, but because you could argue Guardiola may have been right.
City fan I know couldn't understand it then and can't understand why Hart hasn't found form since.

Re: ARTICLE: Hart moves to Celtic
He’s not been first choice at a club since December 2018. It will do him good to be playing regularly for Celtic.
Re: ARTICLE: Hart moves to Celtic
Didnt mind Joe Hart here to be honest, he was ok.
However hope he has a rotten time up there, or at least a poor enough time Celtic finish 2nd in the 2 horse race.

Re: ARTICLE: Hart moves to Celtic
I dont get the anger on here towards celtic. Well run club massive support which is more than can be said for the tax dodgers at ibrox. Only professional club in history to be demoted from the top division of there respective pyramid to the bottom league and still be alliwed to continue. Awful club . Awful fans

Fiorentina? Parma? Palermo? Nueva Chicago? Portuguesa? Marseille?
Won’t be the last team to be unfortunate enough to have charlatan ownership. You are clearly a Celtic fan.

No one hated him when he was here.
He just wasn't good enough, too expensive, came as a failure and no one wanted him here

Re: ARTICLE: Hart moves to Celtic
Sadly a lot of it is down to history and that itself is linked to religion. Think Northern Ireland with a mix of football violence bundled in.Srg1882 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 04, 2021 9:58 amI dont get the anger on here towards celtic. Re: ARTICLE: Hart moves to Celtic
Not a celtic fan at all . However I am a catholic that served in the British army for 7 yrs including 2 tours of NI so am probably slighty better placed to talk about the bigotry . I have no feelings towards Celtic at all , im a claret , always have been always will be . My first season was 85/86 . Just dont get the hatred at all off some uneducated pond life on here towards a football club thats predominantly catholic. Are your views also anti-semetic towards spurs ???????????

Re: ARTICLE: Hart moves to Celtic
Good move for Joe Hart, however he'll be kept busy if Celtic continue to defend as poorly as they have been doing recently.
We could see Arfield vs Hart in the Old Firm on the 29th August at Ibrox.
Regarding both sides of the Glasgow divide neither can claim any moral high ground, as they're both as bad as each other.

Re: ARTICLE: Hart moves to Celtic
Nothing to do with religion but Celtic supporters tried to smash our ground up and maim our supporters in that infamous night in was it 1979? In the first leg of the Anglo Scottish cup final.
For that I can’t say I’m all that warm towards them.

78 I believe, I wasn't there, but some of my older relations were, and it wasn't pretty according to their accounts.
Not that Rangers were any better on their recent visit to Manchester.

I always find it odd that the rabid, anti english, and pro irish elements within celtics fanbase will happily take any success that comes their way , even if that means english players provide it for them.

Probably the same way the rabid, anti-Catholic elements within Rangers fanbase have been happy to get behind players like Lorenzo Amoruso, Nacho Novo and Fernando Ricksen over the years if they bring success.Wile E Coyote wrote: ↑Wed Aug 04, 2021 10:49 pmI always find it odd that the rabid, anti english, and pro irish elements within celtics fanbase will happily take any success that comes their way , even if that means english players provide it for them.

It went on long before Saint & Greavesy too - was mentioned recently but Frank Haffey was the ultimate in 1961 when he conceded nine against England, this at a time when the constantly ignored Adam Blacklaw.Taffy on the wing wrote: ↑Thu Aug 05, 2021 3:27 amHe'll fit right in!..........anyone remember Ian Saint-John & Jimmy Greaves ripping on Scottish Goalies?

Re: ARTICLE: Hart moves to Celtic
The much repeated tale of What Celtic Fans did on the night....my journey started at the New Albion pub on Rossendale road,Lots of them in jovial mood having a Drink ...to the Turf thousands of fans in and around the ground. Me and my first missus stood as we always did at the back of the Longside next to the no mans land railings. Some of What I saw that night remains clear. Burnley fans attacking the Celtic fans of all ages ripping the hooped scarves off em....segregation couldn't be enforced that night considering the numbers. The game commenced but you couldn't focus on the game for the trouble and the touch paper was lit when Celtic scarves were set on Fire ..mayhem then broke out. We made are way back to the bus station and again Witnessed Celtic fans of all ages being attacked by Burnley fans.i was more shocked by Burnley fans that night Tbh. I always like to redress the balance when the "Celtic" game comes up. And.. no I have no affiliation with them.

if you need an answer, go up to glasgow and ask around. Their support is never based on the purity of the game, or the love of the sport in the majority of cases. Invariably a harsh indoctrination from childhood based on bigotry.
they don't "Bring it in" its THE driving force up there.

I know all about Glasgow I’ve worked up bearsden & Easter houses years ago & govan for awhile I know about it, what happens up there is there business I don’t think it’s anything to do with us, generally speaking they hate each other & some of it is religiously stemmed regarding Protestants & catholics, I just think if they want to beat each other up or hate each other leave them to it.Wile E Coyote wrote: ↑Thu Aug 05, 2021 9:00 amif you need an answer, go up to glasgow and ask around. Poor start for him.
Didn’t seem to be aware he could leave his six yard box.

Re: ARTICLE: Hart moves to Celtic
TBF to Hart any keeper would struggle playing behind that Celtic defence, one simple long ball and they were completely opened up, mind you he could have made a better attempt to save the shot, he never even tried to dive for it, his kicking hasn't been great either, and we all know that's the thing keepers are judged on these days.Bordeauxclaret wrote: ↑Thu Aug 05, 2021 5:35 pmPoor start for him.

Typical Celtic display, look great going forwards, but can't bury their chances, and you always feel you can score against them.
4 competitive games this season, and still no sign of a clean sheet, it probably won't matter for Celtic in this tie, but once they start meeting the decent sides they'll be in for a doing or two unless they seriously tighten up.
Re: ARTICLE: Hart moves to Celtic
Good move for him. He'll be fine up there.
I just hope some posters can refrain from highlighting every small mistake he makes though as above. Tedious.

3-2 now, and yet another poor goal conceded by Celtic. And I don't see how JH can be blamed for that one.
