I'm looking forward to renewing my 3 season tickets at early bird prices next year, with the option of paying by direct debit.,to watch the best footballers in the world at Turf Moor. Those the don't want to pay fair enough, just don't moan about a lack of signings, when you kick off because you got to pay an extra £5 a game
One poster on this thread spends his life moaning on the transfer thread about lack of signings, but now admits to not paying to watch us, I genuinely thought he was trolling

“One club for all”

“Community club”

It’s a load of rubbish. I hope the extra 600k Pace earns by ripping off people in the poorest part of the country is worth it

You won’t get things like this supporting Man City or Man Utd.

I will also renew... but only because i can, and partly because i remember how bad it really can be and these are the best of times so i have earned the right to love it.

I reckon if you could guarantee watching the best footballers in the world at Turf Moor next season, then there wouldn't be an issue with people paying a little extra. But you can't guarantee it because of the lack of investment in the playing staff. For the first time since we were promoted last time, i now fear for our immediate future at this level.

People are struggling to see the correlation between ticket prices and the wages being drawn by players. £350 a season and people reckon that not paying that money up front leads to the club being unable to operate effectively in the transfer market. I think that's utter tripe. That, along with the board failing to understand the constraints the economy is putting on disposable income in these parts only adds to peoples frustrations with the club and it's relationship with the fans. They talked the talk when opening the front door... and although we haven't got to the start line yet, i'm losing confidence. Lose touch with the fans and it's all over.

Newcastle, i have done the same and not renewed after 30 years because we are underdogs in every game we play both home and away. Yes we may surprise now and again but the continued lack of investment in the playing staff is embarrassing and they still want the same money off us. Be interested what they do if/when we get relegated.
Daft sod.. Burnley have always been underdogs and I have been a season ticket holder for 50 years.

Never ever been a better time to be a claret in generations and those who say otherwise haven't been watching us long.

Personally would rather watch us scrapping every game for points than the likes of Man City who expect theres

Just going back to the club shop and ticket office being closed...it's odd. I know this has been the trend in previous seasons ahead of a new kit launch, but surely the work can be done between the club shop and ticket office closing today and then opening again the following day? Or am I missing something here? Do high street retail stores work in this way before they launch their clothes ranges for the new season? I don't think they do.

Well we won’t be scrapping for points against City. We will simply roll over and get our bellies tickled like we usually do. I will definitely give both City games a miss and do something productive instead.

Good points. Retailers like Next work late into the evening to prepare their seasonal sales. Quite simply we are commercially inept, even with our new supposedly savvy American owners at the helm.

Erm not quite. I seem to recall that other lesser teams similar to us actually turned up and gave City a game.

Closing the store to prepare for a kit launch!?

Dressing a mannequin in the kit, popping up some new visuals in the store and logging the stock / barcodes shouldn’t result in the closure of the store.

Most work could be done behind the scenes and the ‘front of house’ stuff done between closing the previous day and opening the next.

It’s perhaps not a huge deal, but it’s not exactly professional. There’s a long way to go for us in a number of off the field areas.
Couldn’t agree more with this. Totally bizarre strategy.

Over the years we’ve beaten them and drawn with them at this level. Recently they batter us but not going to be the only ones are we?

Yes we are the only ones who are consistently beaten by the customary 5 goals each time we play them. So much so that it is becoming a joke. Even the bookies offer poor odds for us losing by 5 goals against City.

Chin up sure other clubs get beat by the same amount of the other top 6 clubs. Hopefully Dyche will put a stop to the joke this season.

Pace seems to think “One club for all” is the club motto but it was Neil Hart’s claim for the community.

Do people actually think that by increasing ticket prices by £5/10 this will help us pay millions of pounds for new and better players?
How many season ticket holders are there? About 13/14k? So if you bump prices up by an extra fiver and have say 5k walk ons every prem game, that’s an extra £475k for 19 prem games and bumping it up a tenner that’s £950k for 19 prem games per season.
I know it’s all extra money for the club but I’m sure that money could be generated through other avenues other than increasing prices for supporters

Reading this, it does sound like Stan was right. Burnley fans want champagne football for beer money.
The numbers you quote will help pay the directors wages that they now take. But if course this is the direction fans wanted.

No going back now. You are just a customer for Mr Pace and crew to make money out of. From what I can see, the new broom is sweeping out people who know the ethos of the club. Loyalty and tradition? That chapter seems to be closed now. Welcome to the world of corporate sport, the Premier League.

I’m only 23. Was a season ticket holder from 2005 to 2019 and I can certainly say I won’t be going on much, if at all, this season. Much rather go and watch non-league football.

There comes a time when everyone stops going to watch there favourite professional football team.Looks like this season is the one for a lot of people.Fair enough, looks like at last we have a board who, want to push us forward, but a lot of people don't like it.Prices, etc but football is a business at the end of the day

Not really a great leap forward. Squeezing less than £1m out of fans at a tough time while adding an £8m debt repayment to the annual bill doesn’t feel like we’re suddenly moving with the big players.

It’s ironic as there are actually people on this board that have done just that.

But no I have decided not to renew my season ticket and just watch on tv.

Why not register on the bluemoon forum, they have just spent 100m on 1 player, play really good football and it is free for you. If you think I believe for 1 minute you held a season ticket for 10 years+ but have given up now then I think you tell bigger porkies than I thought.

Your outlook on life will improve dramatically watching amazing football, spending 1 Billion pounds in the last 5-6 seasons, winning games and trophies. Just change clubs and channels, make yourself happy and not cry and upset yourself through each transfer window.

No, the “direction the fans wanted” was for one of our greatest ever managers not to leave the football club. Which is what would have happened if Garlick stayed. To infer that fans wanted prices to pay for “directors wages” (which is total conjecture anyway) is disingenuous to say the very least. Awful mindset.

You can believe what you want.

I think there is a misconception, I don’t want us to spend 100m on one player or win trophies (I would love it if we could). I just want us to be competitive in the market and as a result improve our style.
Look at the football we were playing 3-4 seasons ago it was immense.

I am also not a fan of the takeover but I think I have given pretty justified reasons why.

You obviously have a problem with me for some reason. If you don’t like it just don’t reply. I am not directing any of it towards you.

As I have said a number of times I have contributed for a long time as have my parents and grand parents.

I’m sorry you don’t agree but I have stopped contributing because I don’t enjoy the experience as much anymore and I can’t justify the expense.

I'm amazed at how vociferous a few people are and how much negativity they portray about the club and yet admittedly don't go to any games.

Nope it is lost on me, if it made me that unhappy that I stopped going the last thing that would appeal to me would me going on a forum to moan about everything that stopped me enjoying it.
