Nick Pope..
..New strip. I like it. Started buying keeper jerseys as I’ve been advised to cover up.

Re: Nick Pope..
Good to see that they have gone with black socks
From the pics we saw of the friendly games so far, they looked grey

No. He’s just telling Dyche to pencil him in for Saturday.

Re: Nick Pope..
He looks very dapper in that kit, I can't resist being reminded of this classic tune from the 90's.

We will be wearing the 2nd kit at Anfield in two weeks time so they will need to reveal it by then.randomclaret2 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 05, 2021 9:57 pm2nd and 3rd kits also worn during todays media day according to the club's soon to be departing media manager

Re: Nick Pope..
Looks nice but for me, I prefer green and yellow shirts. Having said that, I remember Brian Jensen modelling a white number or two way back when (not the silver or grey ones).

Re: Nick Pope..
i remember Peter Shilton wearing a white top.
I'm sure he said it made is position in goal too obvious to anyone shooting from distance.
We all know 'keepers should wear green!!

We could possibly explore utilising the ‘Mr Blobby’ style of Hockey goalie kits?

Re: Nick Pope..
Note the gloves. I was looking at a replay of The Big Match from 1977 and if goalkeepers wore gloves they were just cotton gloves. Mervyn Day of West Ham didn't wear gloves at all.

Looks like a pyjama top, but anything that stops grown men wearing football shirts when not playing is a good move, even more so when it comes to wearing a goalkeeper top down to the pub/match

Re: Nick Pope..
I remember us playing at home to Coventry (who wore green and black away kit). Alan Stevenson (green top) had to wear a white tee shirt and Bill Glazier (red top) had to wear a white tee shirt
Re: Nick Pope..
I think keepers should wear prominent colours, with a design which makes it look like they fill the goal.
The striker sees the colour and subconsciously shoots at them rather than past them.

Hope this hints a jet black 3rd or away kit. Much better for us big lads than white or bloody yellow

Re: Nick Pope..
Given what Sean has been saying recently, it doesn't sound as though Popey will be available for at least the first couple of games.
At least Klopp will be pleased.

Re: Nick Pope..
Can't remember the team but there was recently a goalkeeper shirt with a bright swirling pattern on the front.
Apparently this acted as a target to the opponent about to shoot and would subconsciously aim for it making the shot easier to save

It is not a good goalkeeper look. He looks invisible and he was!
Imposing vibrant colours are a must, so the ball is attracted.
