Away fan price this week in Championship

Post by ClaretTony » Sat Aug 07, 2021 9:51 am

These are the adult prices being charged for away fans this weekend in the Championship. With no Leeds or Sheffield Wednesday in there, only three clubs are charging higher than the Premier League limit.

Sheffield United - £33
Bristol City - £33
QPR - £33
Bournemouth - £30
Fulham - £30
Coventry - £30
Derby - £28
Luton - £26
Blackburn - £25
Stoke - £25
Preston - £24
Cardiff - £20

£33 at QPR is an absolute bargain. Love an away day at a proper ground like that.

Fair play Cardiff, Stoke, rovers and Preston. They’re fair prices.

Loftus Road wants demolishing. They have the gall to sell restricted view aka no view tickets in the away end
These no view seats should be torn out

Proper ground like goodison. Will be sad when we are all playing at king power with different coloured seats.

If that's not a wind-up, then I don't know what is!

Away trips to London and especially to old grounds are the best days for me.

Really?

£33 to stand in a crumbling, delapidated old ground with a restricted view is not a bargain in my view... but each to their own.

Forest taking 4000 to Coventry tomorrow for a game thats on Sky thats £120,000 into the coffers of Cov.Is it correct that Derby fans cannot buy season tickets and can only buy matchday tickets ?

At it again I see. You wouldn't have posted that had it been anyone else but myself who had started the thread. It's just downright pathetic as it is when you trawl the board liking posts because they criticise me.

Shame you feel you constantly feel the need to ruin threads.

Lots of teams missing from your list CT. Is this just the teams playing at home this first w/end?

West London pricing. I remember paying £55 for Stamford Bridge a few seasons back. Think we got 1-1 that day. Ben Mee scoring.

I wonder have some of these clubs got "dynamic pricing" - different prices depending on the opposition? QPR play Millwall, West v East London (and north of the Thames v south of the Thames). So, higher prices for derbies?

Also interesting to look at our near neighbours and compare Premier League and Championship prices.

Do you think that would be the same price if they drew us at home in one of the cups?

OK, we're all agreed the stand at QPR is poxy and old and wouldn't meet modern standards.

But for balance, the view from the upper tier (if away fans are allowed in the upper tier) is very good.

Same cannot be said for the lower tier and what needs to be said about the "facilities" has already been said.

But the upper tier has a great view.

Absolutely. Had a brilliant day there in 2014. 3-3 between two top sides in the league. Great view and atmosphere.

Hi mik, great question. Which cup, which round? With the now common practice that early rounds are run outs for other members of the squad, these games are often not "premium priced" and may not be included in as part of ST. So, question would be what price does the home team charge for home fans and then I'd expect this would set the price for away fans.

However, quarter final, either League or FA cup I'd expect would be in high demand. Maybe £40 adult would be snapped up by all if that was to happen.

Same. Great performance that day and really should have won it. Decent following for a Sunday (if I remember correctly) and as it's part of that wonderful promotion season, although it was only a draw, I remember it as fondly as the Andy Cole hattrick game.

It's the only time I've managed to get that ground before kick off and I was still drunk from the night before. Ahhhhh happy days! :)

It’s shocking looking at those prices. I feel sorry for families that can’t afford to go to games due to current costs. I accept that compared to other activities it’s probably similar but gone are the days of family priced football.

Early kick off on the Saturday for Sky. Excellent performance.

It’s a ground I’ve always enjoyed going to despite the facilities.

Possibly a different game that. They’d signed quite a few before the game but I don’t think he was one of them.

It was quite a big result at the time as I think they were a few points in front of us.

You’re right I was sure he signed that day. I know they signed a good few players that day.

What a side they had.

I agree. There’s something special about visiting old stadiums. Loftus Road is one of them, a it’s compact and close to the field. I like that

QPR has always been one of the more expensive away days. I remember back in 09/10, it was £30 for a Championship away game there. S0 £3 more 11 years later is very good.

Surprised at Brizzle charging £33, maybe they got aroggant after Ahston Gates face lift. I remember the old seats with no backs and awful view there.

I don’t agree on it being an absolute bargain by the way, just to clarify that before someone jumps on my comments…

I just prefer visiting those types of grounds

But that away end at QPR is dangerous. It’s not fit for purpose.
