It’s Pontefract Collieries vs Handsworth in the
Third qualifying round.
Might be another favourable draw for
Pontefract.
Handsworth play at the same level as Barlick
but in the north east counties league

With a favourable draw in the 4th qualifying
round Pontefract could make 1st round proper.

4th qualifying round today (1st round proper next). I went to Eastleigh (the Spitfires) v Folkestone Invicta (tier 5 v tier 7). Away team went 3-0 up inside 20 minutes and that was the half time score, finished 3-3 though so all goals at the same end. Admission £5 for me as an oldie. Great value, less that a quid per goal.

When we did this a few years ago I think all but one team we had were beaten. To get to this stage having only had the two teams I would think is rare. I'd better get another packet of Pontefract Cakes for the replay.

Pontefract or Halifax will be at home to Maidenhead United in the 1st round.

You can imagine Stockport will take a few to their big Greater Manchester derby at Bolton.

So we move with Halifax in round 1 with their home tie against Maidenhead United.

3-1 winners and, the next stop, York. 8-)

Now this is an #FACup fact!

Across its 150 year history, and despite more than 73,000 matches, no two 'Y' clubs have ever met in the FA Cup.

Tonight, Yate Town host Dover Athletic for the chance to play Yeovil Town in the 1st Round

12 replays thus far, and some notable performances from the non-leagues sides.

Solihull Moors holding League 1 leaders to a goalless draw probably the most eye-catching result of the round, and they must fancy themselves at home in the replay, and I'll be surprised if that's not one of the TV picks.

Yes it was, and on the 2nd half St Albans deserved their narrow victory, the last 10 minutes they defended heroically literally throwing bodies on the line to keep FGR at bay.

It was also great to enjoy a game without players rolling around like they'd been shot when they had barely been touched, and also no VAR to interrupt any goal celebrations and spoiling the moment of spontaneity.

And capped off by a pitch invasion, which you rarely witness these days.

Dagenham & Redbridge v Salford City tonight in the final tie of the 1st round, that pits an ex football league team against a current one if memory serves me correctly, so that could be a banana skin for Salford.

There was a fair few packed behind the net when Buxton scored!

What is the story around the manager? Heard he was meant to be on holiday for the York game so they sacked him and brought in someone else? Is that the whole story or some bits missing?

A friend at work took his little boy for his first game at Halifax for the 7-4.

He said if it finished 10-10 you wouldn't have been surprised, defences for both teams non-existent.

I was there and ,yes, what a game it was capping off a great football weekend after being at Chelsea on Saturday. Just over 4,000 sell-out crowd under the lights and amazing how composed St Albans were in the second half, as well as defending heroically in that mad spell towards the end. Looking forward to the 2nd round draw at 9.30pm tonight now.

Yep, well over a thousand there for it. Nearer 14 or 15 hundred.
Those that went I've spoken with are all a bit surprised at the official gate.

As for the manager move, that's the only story we've got.
Assistant manager wouldn't give up his already postponed holiday so the management team upped and left.
I don't get any 'inside' info these days. Seems odd.
And very strange though that almost before they'd done clearing out the office, the next guy was coming in. :)
Didn't realise he'd been at Colne, either.
Only side to beat Buxton this season.

Postmaster here in the village is a big York City fan but, has refused to go the last couple of years.
Reckons the club's gone rotten from the top down.
Seems a lot of unhappiness there. Shame to see. Along with thousands of other Clarets, have good memories of York.

I saw the Sheff Wed - Plymouth game on Sunday to see how Peacock-Farrell was doing. In actual fact he had little to do, his handling was safe and his kicking except in one instance was good.

Plymouth impressed me as well organised team, mostly when any player received the ball they knew there were passing options. A Wednesday player in a similar position had to wait to look around for a teammate. They were however the more physical and towards the end looked the more likely winners in the 0-0 draw. Old stager Barry Bannan was their most creative and lively player.

teams in the third round draw.
