explains it all
"Sean Dyche said Ashley Barnes' ability to defend from the front was the reason behind his introduction ahead of Matej Vydra in Burnley's Premier League defeat to Brighton."
And that is why Dyche needs to go.
And that is why Dyche needs to go.

Re: explains it all
Is it not ironic that somebody named “brexit” is critical of what some perceive and call “brexit football”?

Alan; Sean, have you got a minute?
Sean; What is it, Al?
Alan; Bad news Sean
Sean; Go on…
Alan; Your comment about Barney defending from the front…
Sean; Uh huh
Alan; Afraid we’re gonna have to let you go, champ

Watch Barnes "defending from the front" for the 2nd goal.

Re: explains it all
Everyone is reacting as though SD even making that comment does not suggest he knows he got it wrong.
What do you want him to do offer to resign, or just apologise publicly in front of the worlds press that one of his players was considerably worse on the day than he was expecting?
That will do wonders for morale, I’m sure.

Omg, Sean dyche must have got more decisions right than he’s got wrong! After all if you get it wrong most of the time, a team like Burnley don’t have 6 seasons on the trot in the premier league!

With a username like that it's hardly surprising you want a quick, simple, and ultimately damaging answer to a complicated issue

This hindsight thing is a wonderful thing to beat Dyche with. Questionable subs as they were. If Barnes had cracked one in the top corner two minutes after coming on everyone would be calling it a masterstroke.
We move on.
We move on.
Re: explains it all
But he didn't though did he ?
What if Vydra had of come on and we played the ball on the ground and got at them and scored but he didn't have the chance did he ?
It's all about decisions and opinions and in hindsight the majority think SD made the wrong call I reckon he does asxwell. He gets far more right then wrong though so I am happy with him, however big and increasingly bigger salaries put you under more pressure to eliminate more wrong decisions.
I feel sorry for SD as he simply hasn't got the squad we need.

Re: explains it all
Sean has his critics and I have been one at times (usually after he has thrown away yet another cup match) but he has got far more things right than wrong over the years. How would Gladiola or the Special one have faired on our budget? Dyche has given us some great moments and we should remember those moments with fondness. As for him going anywhere…who would we get who is better?
No-one knows how good or bad he would be at a top club but, as frustrating and stubborn as he can be at times, he has been an incredible asset to our club. Is he our best manager ever? Debatable as we have never been English Champions or FA cup finalists under him. Neither have we reached the European cup quarters under him, but then again when we did achieve those things there wasn’t the unbelievable financial inequality then that there is now.
On balance…better he stays I think.

Re: explains it all
I have many times struggled to fathom Dyche’s dislike of certain players and his love of others.
However, has there ever been a manager in our history with more 1-0 wins?
If he chooses to grind it out, it often works. This time, it didn’t.
