Missing kick off again
Re: Missing kick off again
The signage for the 'North' stand is unhelpful in every sense. Name and establishing upper lower choice.
Season ticket card equally misleading, which caused long snakes with many missing kick off.
I bypassed my designated entry, which was very long queue and walked to much shorter queue and saw start.
With the paint jobs and signage coupled with removal of Jimmy Mac signage, I fear for the club. Someone is making wrong decisions for Burnley FC.

Re: Missing kick off again
We thought we weren't going to get in on time yesterday but in our queue there were people getting to the turnstile and then being turned away which was slowing things down. No idea why, perhaps they had gone to upper tier turnstiles when they wanted lower, I don't think the current signage indicates which.
It was slow moving but thankfully we were in before kick off. Will definitely be going in earlier in future.

Re: Missing kick off again
Well clearly that’s a solution, but not the most practical one. The question people are rightly asking is why there are bigger queues when the attendances are smaller and the turnstiles are now more automated.Longsidelenny1882 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 31, 2021 8:23 amJust an idea for some people who are late getting on the ground get to the ground 45 mins before ko it works every time never missed a ko utc

Re: Missing kick off again
Maybe the fact that the Park View is open again has a bearing? More people havving a last pint before proceeding to the turnstiles?
Re: Missing kick off again
On the other hand, you could argue that the club needs to put itself out slightly more to please the customers, rather than the customers having to put themselves out a bit more to please the club.Longsidelenny1882 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 31, 2021 8:23 amJust an idea for some people who are late getting on the ground get to the ground 45 mins before ko it works every time never missed a ko utc

One thing I did notice on Sunday was we now have hot water in the toilets in the JHU

Not sure that they actually are more automated? We must be one of few PL grounds which still require the services of a turnstile operator to gain entry!

Re: Missing kick off again
By more automated I meant that the supporter can now scan their own card which saves quite a lot of time compared to last season when they took the card off you and meticulously placed under a little scanner. Granted the turnstile operator still has to press the pedal to release the turnstile.

Re: Missing kick off again
Turnstiles we use are not more automated. Still requires turnstile operator to allow you to go in. Only difference is we now have to lean in to scan our own cards. It's taking longer.

Re: Missing kick off again
Strange. The JM turnstiles have quite a large scanner which is easily accessible on the outside of the operators cage(?). Despite the length of the queues they were moving much faster as I’d guess it takes half the time to scan your own card than hand it over to be scanned.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Tue Aug 31, 2021 1:21 pmTurnstiles we use are not more automated. Re: Missing kick off again
I thought it worked quite well. I had 5 QR codes on my phone - 3 kids / 2 adults for JHL. Went to the 1st turnstile but was told I was at the wrong one.... correct turnstile is shown with the QR codes - turnstile M in my case. Scanned all 5 codes in turn and we all went in...... 30 mins before kickoff with no queue.
People arriving up to 20 mins late forcing the whole row to stand up is pretty annoying...........

That’s why I sit in the middle of my row. I can come in whatever time I want and nobody ever has to walk past me to get to their seat.Sutton-Claret wrote: ↑Tue Aug 31, 2021 1:31 pmI thought it worked quite well. Thought the Cricketfield queue moved quite fast at 1:50pm.
Still had to hand the card to the operator to scan and open.

Strange that they’re operating different systems across the stadium.

Re: Missing kick off again
Not sure which part of the ground the OP was sat in, can only comment in relation to CFS.
This season is the first I've sat in this stand for more than an odd game a year. The queues for Brighton were horrendous. Indeed we missed the first goal and then some. I asked the steward who simply said 'you've all turned up at once'. Can't really argue at that given that many of those in the CFS including us were probably stood in a pub until about ten minutes before kick off.
Leeds game - got there about 20 or 25 minutes before kick off and got straight in.
Hope that helps.

I've asked the Club to confirm whether or not turnstile operators should be handling people's season cards.

Re: Missing kick off again
With the **** poor choice of drink (which seem to be exactly the same as last season despite what was said), a tannoy system that doesn't work, wifi that is useless and tv's in the concourse that don't work the club isn't exactly helping itself if the desire is to make people turn up earlier.
Re: Missing kick off again
With regard to the upper and lower tiers could some kind soul on here actually list the turnstile numbers that are appropriate to each tier. This would certainly help those like me that make just a handful of visits each season. Thanks.

Re: Missing kick off again
Not sure of the numbers but I think for the “Jimmy Mc”, the outer turnstiles are for the upper tier and the inner ones are for the lower
Confusingly, for the the “Longside” I think it’s the other way around

Longside upper my card says use turnstiles K - T but all have had long queues when arriving so I have gone through J both times which has no queue and takes you to the same Longside upper

This was the same as my experience. Also, the person in front of me wanted JHL, so had to change queues; why are there no signs to indicate which entrances are for JHU or JHL?claretonthecoast1882 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 02, 2021 8:25 amLongside upper my card says use turnstiles K - T but all have had long queues when arriving so I have gone through J both times which has no queue and takes you to the same Longside upper
For both home games, the operator has asked me to scan my own card.
At half time the toilets were surprisingly (pleasantly!) quiet; what is everyone doing? I was shocked when hot water came out of the hot water tap…I could have done myself a mischief

Re: Missing kick off again
Spoke to one of the main stewards prior to kick off and asked why the queues were longer than normal, even though it was obvious today that people had got to the turnstiles earlier.
He said the new system that was installed before the season takes longer per entrant than the previous one and so the queues are building all the time, he also said the old system seemed to work so he didn't know why they changed it.

Still had to hand card to operator today. I've no problem with it, some might have.

Walked to the ground about 5 to 3. Huge queues in the centre of the longside.
We carried on until turnstile G (lower tier) and walked straight in.

It didnt help people (obviously not regulars) trying to get into NSU who were in NSL today 1st time we've had to queue for ages at 1.30pm .... also people struggling with QR codes on phones etc ... (people on the gate not the people with the phone) we will get there a lot of these things are new to a lot of people me included when we get to the Under 21 England match using QR codes ... have printed our tickets but have the email with the codes on ... be interesting

Re: Missing kick off again
Do the club have debriefs after games to sort out what went right and what went wrong?
Surely this is one of the things that could be sorted out, firstly how about putting signs up above the turnstiles to let non familiar supporters know which turnstiles are for the upper and lower tiers? That's just common sense to me.

My lucky turnstile 17 has dissapeared, that's why we are struggling to win a game.
