Everton (a) - General Info

Post by ClaretTony » Thu Sep 09, 2021 5:28 pm

These threads proved to be useful a couple of seasons ago.

This is for the Everton game and is for posting anything of interest/use for Burnley fans travelling to the game - but not ticket information or away coach travel which have their own threads.

Links to all are now in the restored sticky showing above the general threads.

Any parking tips?!

Will be setting off from Bury around 5.30 and driving down the East Lancs.

Last time I visited Goodison, parked at Lifestyles Walton and was a quick 15 min walk to the ground. Not sure whether to do the same or opt for somewhere else as will be getting there slightly later than last time.

Would also welcome some parking advice. I always end up parking somewhere dodgy when going to Anfield/Goodson.

If not, I’ll give this Lifestyles at Walton a go, thanks!

I will be putting this link on the site tomorrow but it does no harm to repeat it on here.

This is Everton's code of conduct and I recommend anyone going to Goodison should read this.

It was attended and about £5 in 2019 from memory, so a good bet. Just quite limited in number of spaces available I think.

Crikey, that’s a long list of rules. How life has changed from when you just went to a match without giving it a second thought. Thanks for posting though.

Thanks, should be getting there early so will give it a go. Don’t mind paying & much prefer an attended car park than the sloped road banking I threw it outside Anfield 🤫

There's 2 schools that you can park on and some parking available near the away coaches at Stanley Park.

Whenever I go to Goodison ( or Anfield for that matter ) I drive to Ormskirk Station, which has a large free car park, and get the train to Kirkdale.

Easy, and no traffic problems at all.

Do you have to have a negative test before you can go to this game then?

So not even these ones?

Be respectful to others in your vicinity.

Follow good hygiene practices at all time.

Ensuring your mouth and nose is covered if you need to cough or sneeze.

They seem like basic steps that any civilised individual should be able to take.

Or proof of being double vaccinated - mine's on my phone.

You only have to go to any Burnley away game to encounter lots of people like tenbellies.

We are travelling from bury on monday and as you more or less get to end of east lancs road there is a sports centre on your right with plenty of street parking on your left roughly 10 minutes walk to ground, 5 mins walk to the taxi social club where away supporters are welcome.

Do you know what the name of the social club is? Always struggle to find somewhere to have a drink beforehand.

It's just the Taxi Club. It's on the left, just after the east lands road turns into Walton Hall Ave, can't miss it.

Plenty of good pubs around the ground. The weatherspoons accross from Aldi is decent but gets very busy close to kick off.

The only pub to avoid is the Brick.

Never been to the taxi club but it's cheap and for all the cities cabbies. Away friendly as is the Arkles which is the away pub for Anfield as well.

They might be random but what I can say is they have been checking at previous games and those checked and unable to provide either have not been admitted.

Carisbrooke Road and 5 min walk to Goodison
If any scoats want to mind your car agree that way to get wheels to drive home on
Dont scam them by driving off to avoid paying .A mate did this and they bricked his car.

I saw no extra rules being enforced. I also didnt see a Burnley fan wearing a mask, only stewards and police. I saw plenty of singing though, (maskless). I hope you weren't too upset by people behaving normally at a football match, Rileybobs and Mr Deary me. Peace and love.

1. I was wearing a mask
2. Our group were required to show covid passes although I am aware the checks were random.
3. Why am I wasting my time replying to such a pathetic post?

Being disrespectful to others and failing to follow good hygiene practices isn't 'behaving normally'. Sorry to break that news to you.

There are some really weird pious people on here, who worship their new covid god at the expense of living a life. I don't mind that. I do mind you expect others to become part of your cult.

Sounds like you're as big as your username, what a big man you are. So happy to potentially spread around a virus that has shown to kill people off and is still doing it in the hundreds weekly. What a cult it must be to avoid that kind of strangeness!!
